Description
The traditional recording that conveys “NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour’s best super performance” has been upgraded. The great performance was realized in “Stockholm performance on April 12, 1978”. It is an excellent audience recording that captures the whole story. Speaking of “NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”, it is a tour that spans 1977 / 1978, and its symbol is the super masterpiece “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977”. Let’s check what position this work will be in from the schedule at that time. 1977 “NEWS OF THE WORLD” released on October 28th November 11th – December 22nd: North America (26 performances) ← ※ ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977 1978 ・ April 12th – May 3rd: Europe (15 performances) ← ★ Here ★ ・ May 6th – 13th: UK (5 performances) 《July “JAZZ” production begins》 This is the journey from the release of “NEWS OF THE WORLD” to the production of “JAZZ”. “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977” was a record of the “North American” leg at the beginning of the tour, but this work is the “European” leg in 1978, when the year changed. It was the concert on the first day. This show has been known for the fact that it has been recorded famously, and the existing releases have been known as a standard. This work is based on that famous recording, but also utilizes another separate recording. It is the highest peak update board that has been further polished with meticulous mastering. In fact, it is a master planned and produced by a core maniac overseas, but the sound is certainly the best ever. It is not just connected and the longest is achieved, but the brush-up accuracy of each sound source is wonderful. If you have experienced the existing sound source, you may know that the pitch is significantly off, and the sound is doubled in “My Melancholy Blues” and “Keep Yourself Alive”. Although you could learn about Freddie’s explosive tension, it was a type that required the audience to get used to it in order to be completely immersed in it. However, if such defects remain, it cannot be layered with another sound source. Therefore, the maniac who produced this work thoroughly cleaned up both sound sources. It was stabilized and the stereo feeling was also corrected. It is matched on top of that. The resulting sound is a sharp sound with a strong core stretching straight through the center of a clear air. It is not so close that it can be mistaken for a sound board, but the performance sound and Freddie’s singing voice stretch out comfortably like a laser beam, and the subtleties are extremely vivid. Above all, the stability of the mastering by the maniacs is excellent, and even if the four notes overlap, they can be enjoyed without mixing. Such an upgraded sound depicts a great performance that is as good as rumored. The set has also changed from the “North American” leg, so let’s organize it here by comparing it with “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977”. A Night at the Opera (7 songs) Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…) / I’m In Love With My Car / You’re My Best Friend / Love Of My Life / ’39 / The Prophet’s Song / Bohemian Rhapsody Dedicated to the World (7 songs + α) We Will Rock You (Fast) / Get Down Make Love / Spread Your Wings (★) / It’s Late (★) / My Melancholy Blues / We Will Rock You / We Are The Champions / Sheer Heart Attack Others (11 songs) Sheer Heart Attack: Brighton Rock / Killer Queen / Now I’m Here / Stone Cold Crazy The Magnificent Race: Somebody To Love / Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy / The Millionaire Waltz / White Man / Tie Your Mother Down Others: Keep Yourself Alive / Jailhouse Rock *Note: The ★ mark indicates the iconic work “ULTIMATE HOUSTON” Songs that were not heard in “1977”. …And so it goes. The balance of “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA” and “NEWS OF THE WORLD” seems to be the same as it was back then, but what’s more important is the explosive performance. Maybe because it was the first day of the tour, he made a big mistake in the lyrics of “We Will Rock You”, but such mistakes were no problem. His singing voice stretches out comfortably, and he can vibrate and shout freely. Here and there, he fakes (upwards!) as if to test his good throat, but he still has plenty of room. It’s clear that Freddie himself is happier than anyone else with such good performance, and he does whatever he wants, such as improvising the intro to “Somebody To Love” and changing the way he sings in “Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy”. Also, “Spread Your Wings” and “It’s Late”, which were not heard in “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977”, are worth listening to regardless of their value. In the previous year, there were many days when he seemed to be struggling to get through, but in this work, he is in a good mood. And Freddie, who is in top form, skips between songs. He starts “Brighton Rock” while saying “Madam, what shall we play? Is Keep Yourself Alive good?” as if he is talking to the front audience, and he is in a strangely good mood, saying to the lighting technician, “Hey, Mr. Spot! Light me up here, here, here. Thank you!” and losing a piece of paper. Of course, Freddie’s good mood is contagious to the other members. You can see that the tension on the first day is transformed into concentration in a good way. Perhaps because the first day went so well, the Copenhagen performance the next day was just as good. It was an outstanding “two miraculous days” even in the “NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”. The Copenhagen performance was enjoyed in “DEFINITIVE DENMARK NEWS (Wardour-109)”, but this work is an upgrade album that can be said to be the “late first part”. A new masterpiece that has been beautifully mastered by overseas enthusiasts. An excellent audience recording of the “Stockholm performance on April 12, 1978”, known as the best performance of the “NEWS OF THE WORLD Tour”. An upgrade master produced by an overseas enthusiast, this is the highest peak update board that makes full use of two sound sources. There is no pitch deviation or sound duplication like the previous release, and you can experience Freddie’s rampage at his best. Please enjoy the two days of miracles together with “DEFINITIVE DENMARK NEWS” the next day. Johanneshovs Isstadion, Stockholm, Sweden 12th April 1978 PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (62:59) 1.
