Description

What is inscribed in this work is “Glasgow performance on May 31, 1977”. This is the newly discovered audience recording. 1977 is a time when two tours “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” and “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR” coexist, but this work is a live album of the former. In order to imagine the situation, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time. 1977 “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”・January 13th – March 18th: North America #1 (40 performances)・May 8th – June 7th: Europe #1 (19 performances) ←★Here★ [“Dedicated to the World” released on October 28th] “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”・November 11th – December 22nd: North America #2 (26 performances) 1978・April 12th – May 13th: Europe #2 (20 performances) This is the overall picture of the two tours. Speaking of 1977, the pro shot of Earl’s Court is famous, but this work is also the 15th performance of “Europe #1”, which is the same as that historic stage. It was a concert the day before “LIVERPOOL 1977” which will be released this week. This work recorded at such a show is a vintage audience with great master freshness. Even if I’m wrong, it’s not the type that can be compared to a sound board, and I can’t deny that it has a slightly thicker sound and a sense of distance. However, it is completely different to say that it is full of noise or shaky. There are almost no dubbing marks or tape deterioration, and the warm atmosphere on site is outstanding. Moreover, this work is the highest peak edition that has been brushed up with meticulous mastering of such a first appearance master. Of course, we are not just trying to increase the sound pressure, but rather by adjusting the balance of each range and pursuing the potential of the original sound. Rather than being a boring document, we have created a music album that is much easier to listen to. The scene of the precious “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” is depicted with that real sound. Unfortunately, it is an incomplete recording that ends in about an hour, but it is still a rush of famous songs that make Freddie in great condition stand out. Let’s organize the contents here.・Queen II: Ogre Battle/White Queen (As It Began) ・Sheer Heart Attack: Killer Queen/Bring Back That Leroy Brown/Brighton Rock ・A Night at the Opera: You’re My Best Friend/Death On Two Legs/ Sweet Lady (★) / ’39 – Splendid Lace: Tie Your Mother Down / Somebody To Love / Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy / The Millionaire Waltz *Note: “★” marks can also be heard on the classic pro shot on the first day of Earl’s Court. No songs. …and it looks like this. In fact, not only is there no end to the show, but there are also tape change cuts in “The Millionaire Waltz” and “You’re My Best Friend.” What a shame! It was made into a gift edition for this reason, but the approximately 1 hour recorded is a blissful show. Above all, I’m happy to see Freddie doing so well. In fact, the opening day in Glasgow (May 30th), the day before this work, and the two performances in Liverpool after this work are all known as great performances. The quality of the performance is incomparable to the famous Earl’s Court, and if they had made a live album with these four consecutive performances in Glasgow and Liverpool, it would have been QUEEN’s best masterpiece. The show is unfolding. Together with the shocking “LIVERPOOL 1974” and “LIVERPOOL 1977″, this is a masterpiece that forms the debut live album trilogy. It’s a shame that “Return” was incompletely recorded, but the content was a very special and wonderful performance. There may be more exciting shows that we don’t know about…A surprising new discovery that will give you a sense of that. Live at Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, Scotland 31st May 1977 TRULY AMAZING SOUND (59:03) 1. A Day At The Races Overture 2. Tie Your Mother Down 3. Ogre Battle 4. White Queen 5. Somebody To Love 6.
