Description

Edinburgh 2 DAYS shines brightly on the European leg of the “HOT SPACE TOUR 1982”, which is full of great performances. A superb live album that records the whole story is now available. This work includes “June 1st + 2nd, 1982 Edinburgh Performance”. This is a 4-disc set with the full audience recording arranged on 2 discs each. First of all, let’s check the show position from the tour schedule at that time. “HOT SPACE” completed in March – April 9th - May 22nd: Europe (26 performances) “HOT SPACE” released on May 21st – May 29th – June 5th: UK (4 Performances) ←★Coco★・July 21st to September 15th: North America (33 performances)・October 19th to November 3rd: Japan (6 performances) This is the entire view of the 1982 world tour. Before the release of “HOT SPACE”, they will tour continental Europe, and immediately after its release, they will perform four performances in their home country of England. The final day is also the official work “QUEEN ON FIRE: LIVE AT THE BOWL”, but the Edinburgh performance of this work was the second and third concert of the “UK” tour just before that. This work is a wonderful audience recording that recorded such a show. Although the recording of both days has been known for a long time, this work is neither a copy nor a remaster of such an already released record. It is digitized directly from the master tape recorded by the same recording artist. The sound is dazzling with its sparkling freshness. It was originally a highly praised recording, but its outline is crisp, the minute details of the guitar are not crushed until the kick of the bass drum, and the synth sound is sparkling and beautiful. And above all, Freddie’s long tone. There is no distortion or cloudiness in the singing voice that stretches forever into the void, shining like a laser beam. What is depicted with that sound is a masterpiece of a masterpiece that has been loved by enthusiasts. The 1982 European tour is also famous for its series of explosive and exciting shows, and with that momentum, they went wild in their home country as well. The set is based on “QUEEN ON FIRE” on the last day of the UK, but there are slight differences. First of all, “First Day (Disc 1-2)”, although “Sheer Heart Attack” has been deleted, Freddie’s powerful vocalization is wonderful and the performance with a high degree of perfection is also delicious. “Back Chat” also hits the spot. What’s interesting is Brian’s guitar solo from “Get Down Make Love”. Here I play the riff of “I Go Crazy”, but this song was released on the 1984 single “Radio Ga Ga”. This day wasn’t the first time it was shown, but you can tell that they’ve had the idea for quite some time. If the first day was a powerful show, “the second day (discs 3-4)” was hyper! This one is playing “Sheer Heart Attack” instead of “Back Chat”, but more than that, Freddie’s flying performance that goes through the whole story is amazing. Singing with a vigor reminiscent of the previous continental European version, the call and response after “Play The Game” also captivated the audience with its variety and growth. And the audience on the other side was also overjoyed. I forgot to mention this, but the spectacle of the large audience in both performances of this work is also wonderful. Although it does not threaten the strong and meaty sound of the performance, the chorus and call and response are loud and wide. No matter how well Freddy plays, it is clear that his performance is not just for nothing, but involves a large audience, and it is precisely because he receives such enthusiasm that it becomes even more heated. It is said that “live is a living thing”, but this is also a set where you can feel the meaning with the best sound. This is a superb live set that depicts the two Edinburgh performances, which are in great shape, with master sound. This 4-disc set will allow those who have loved the previous editions to enjoy the beauty of the sound that was absorbed by the master tapes, while those listening to it for the first time will be able to fully enjoy the awesomeness of Freddy’s music. Great songs, great show, great audience, great sound that absorbs them all.
