Description

The “November 3, 1982: Seibu Stadium” performance was the final performance of the 7-month long “HOT SPACE TOUR” and also became the official video “LIVE IN JAPAN.” The best live album that will be the definitive edition is now available. Last year’s “THE GAME TOUR” was limited to Nippon Budokan, but this tour took a complete turn and conquered large venues all over the archipelago, from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south. First, let’s check the show’s position within the schedule. ・October 19th: Fukuoka City Kyuden Memorial Gymnasium ・October 20th: Fukuoka City Kyuden Memorial Gymnasium ・October 24th: Hankyu Nishinomiya Stadium “STADIUM ROCK” ・October 26th: Nagoya City International Exhibition Center “DEFINITIVE” NAGOYA 1982”・October 29th: Hokkaido Industrial Exhibition Venue “GOT THE POWER”・November 3rd: Seibu Stadium [This work] A total of 6 performances. The visit to Japan itself was the final stop of the world tour, and the Seibu Stadium performance was the final performance. And this show is truly a symbol of 1982. More than anything, it is important that it was left as an official video work, but it is also famous for its superb audience recording. This work is a live album that makes full use of such many sources and carries out a full show with the highest peak sound. First of all, the top priority was the official sound board that was woken up from “LIVE IN JAPAN”. Currently, 6 songs have been made into a DVD as a bonus of “QUEEN ON FIRE: LIVE AT THE BOWL”, but it is not a long sound board released on laser disc at the time. However, although it is long, it is only about an hour long and is not a full show. Therefore, the approximately 52 minutes missing in this work were supplemented with a full audience recording. Moreover, the audience recording is not free. Two types of masters were used, the main one being a traditional super famous recording. He was once announced as “SPACE BOOGIE” and is a superb master who shocked enthusiasts all over the world. Moreover, in this work, it has been re-digitized from the original cassette. The quality has improved significantly. In fact, this work and “SPACE BOOGIE” sound completely different. The clearness of the air is simply different, but even more so is the thickness of the core and the direct feeling. Originally, the details were vivid, but it jumped across the venue space and was ringing in my ears. I think you can definitely tell from the audience’s conversational voices that it’s the same recording, but the sound itself sounds like it was made several dozen meters closer to the recording position. At our store, we often re-digitize famous recordings in line with advances in equipment, but I can’t think of any examples where the quality has been improved to this extent. To be honest, it was initially thought that it would be difficult to connect with the official sound board, but it is a jump upgrade that makes it possible without difficulty. Furthermore, this work also utilizes a completely different newly discovered audience master. The quality itself is not as good as the “SPACE BOOGIE” master, so it is only used partially before the performance, but it reproduces the scene longer than any previous release. We achieved a live album that broke the record for the longest time. Of course, mastering is thorough from start to finish. Official sound board + audience × 2 types have been carefully polished, the sound has been brought close, and carefully connected. We have also alleviated and corrected (as much as possible) the rumbling contact sounds and coughing sounds that are difficult to hear, resulting in a sound that allows you to fully enjoy the finest performance sound. The full show that was revived in this way is truly DEFINITIVE. Official sounds of “Love Of My Life,” “Save Me,” “Under Pressure,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Tie Your Mother Down,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are The Champions,” which cannot be heard on the current “QUEEN ON FIRE” You can enjoy it on the board, and enjoy other songs with the best sound in existence. Also, this show itself is extremely valuable. “Love of My Life,” which was not performed in other countries, and “Teo Torriatte,” which is unique to Japan, are also impressive, but “Teo Torriatte” is especially outstanding. In the first place, it was only played in Japan in 1979 and 1982, but the arrangement is actually different. In 1979, Brian played the piano, perhaps because there were no support members, but in 1982, Brian’s guitar will also be included. Moreover, this is only in Sapporo and Seibu Stadium even in 1982, and you can enjoy the extremely valuable version only twice in history on the sound board. Also, it’s not just guitars. In 1982, it was a short arrangement where the first chorus was only in English, skipping the Japanese and going into the verse (Sapporo from the previous day was such an arrangement). However, the audience tried to sing the chorus exactly as recorded, so they thought it was a mistake and started laughing. Until now, the conventional wisdom was that it was Brian’s mistake, but it may have been Roger’s mistake to add an extra fill (though we won’t know the truth unless we ask him). QUEEN ceased activities after this show. The four of them concentrated on solo activities, and it took about 22 months before they returned to the stage as QUEEN. This work contains such a milestone show. It is a masterpiece that updates the longest and highest peak by making full use of the official sound board, famous recordings reborn through re-digitization, and even new excavated masters. The sense of unity that goes all at once is still the same as that of “SPACE BOOGIE,” but this is a live album where every song and every scene is a continuous full show of the highest quality ever.
