Description
In 1979, they created “LIVE KILLERS” and rose to fame as a live band. Introducing the highest version of the multi-camera professional shot that represented QUEEN from that era. The representative video was shot at the “London performance on December 26, 1979.” The full live album “HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979” recorded by Kinney, which we introduced the other day, is also a popular traditional venue performance. This show was also broadcast on TV at the time, and professional shots have become known as a staple. This work is a combination of the highest versions of two such professional shots. Before we get into the details, let’s talk about the show’s position. It is a little different from the “JAZZ TOUR” that was the site of “LIVE KILLERS”, so let’s check the schedule at that time to understand that side. ●1978 “JAZZ TOUR” October 28th – December 20th: North America (35 performances) ●1979 January 17th – March 1st: Europe (28 performances) April 13th – May 6th: Japan (15 performances)《Production of “THE GAME” started in June》《“LIVE KILLERS” released on June 22nd》》・August 18th: Appearance on SAARBRUCKEN OPEN AIR《Single “Crazy Little Thing” released on October 5th… ” released》 “CRAZY TOUR” November 22nd – December 26th: UK (20 performances) ←★Here★ This is the schedule after “JAZZ”. The main part of “JAZZ TOUR” ended with the Japan performance. After that, they started producing “THE GAME” and released “LIVE KILLERS”, and in the fall, released the lead single “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” in October. A UK tour “CRAZY TOUR” was organized based on the single. The London performance of this work is the final day. It was also the first day of the Cambodia Relief Charity Concert “CONCERT FOR KAMPUCHEA,” which was organized by Paul McCartney. [First half: Long leaked pro shot] As mentioned above, TV broadcasts have become a staple of such shows, but what is included in the first half of this work is a little different. It is an unedited source leaked master that was discovered in 2012. This was a shock. The most powerful thing is that there are 8 songs that were not seen on TV. “Jailhouse Rock (part)” “We Will Rock You (fast)” “Somebody To Love” “Death On Two Legs” “Get Down, Make Love” “Love Of My Life” “’39” “Tie Your Mother Down” ‘ has increased significantly. Still, it was not as good as the full set of the day, and there were editing cuts between songs, but the appearance of a multi-camera professional shot that lasted about 74 minutes was still too shocking. Moreover, the quality far exceeded that of the TV broadcast version. Strictly speaking, it cannot be said to be “official quality!” as there are occasional minute white line noises and audio distortions, but they are only momentary. The basic image and sound quality that covers the entire story can be called official grade. Since you can see the 1979 performance that can be called “moving LIVE KILLERS” with such visual beauty, it is a shocking video that is enough to shock enthusiasts all over the world. This work is the highest peak of such leaked professional shots. Seven years have passed since its release, and several types of masters have been released, but the best ones have been carefully selected and recorded. And the show drawn with such quality is also amazing. Perhaps because there were no shows in their home country on the “JAZZ TOUR,” this “CRAZY TOUR” was a series of high-tension performances. It was such a tour that enthusiasts said, “All the performances were amazing.” What’s more, on this day, Paul McCartney hosted the concert, which attracted a lot of attention and was even broadcast on television. In such a situation, Freddie is on fire and howls with tremendous vocalization. Of course, the ambition is vivid because it is a spectacle, with dynamic and sharp actions, facial expressions that make you use your best singing voice, and rampage that goes to the point of violence… You can enjoy not only Freddy but also Roger with great enthusiasm from the multi-camera close-up angle. [Second half: Japan Broadcast Pro Shot] And what is included in the second half is the TV broadcast version of the same show “THE QUEEN SPECIAL”. It was produced by the British BBC and broadcast in various countries, but this work includes the Japanese version that was broadcast on the “Young Music Show”. Actually, the Japanese broadcast is about 10 minutes shorter than the British broadcast, but the above-mentioned version is longer anyway. “Don’t Stop Me Now”, which is not in the leaked master, can be seen firmly on Japanese Broadcasting. Of course, the quality is top notch. Mastered by a domestic recording enthusiast, the visual beauty is exquisite. There is some deterioration for about 15 seconds in the opening, so it’s not as good as the leaked master, but after that it’s a little thinner. There are no dubbing marks to be found, and you can fully enjoy the exquisite visual beauty until the end of the program. And, the program drawn with that quality is not only “Don’t Stop Me Now”, which is not in the leaked master, but also the sense of the times that oozes out is delicious. At the beginning of the program, the narration says, “They’ve taken Japan by storm,” “They’ve sold 50 million albums,” and “They’re a decadent outlaw!” and between songs, people around London ask, “What do you think of Queen?” Turn. Fans talk about it seriously, and one of them asks (an impersonator of) Queen Elizabeth, “Your Majesty, are you a Queen fan?” and a pub guy says, “Queen? That’s crap rock. We have Beethoven.” Stop it now!” he yells. That cheap comedy has a very British feel to it. Although this production was produced in the UK, this production is only broadcast in Japan with subtitles, allowing you to vividly enjoy the unique production. Also, the two songs “Another One Bites The Dust” and “Flash’s Theme” that were not played on the day are clips, but it is also delicious that this is a different version. Both are familiar performance scenes, but the cuts used are different. What’s more, “Another One Bites The Dust” is cut and pasted in a dynamic manner, including scenes of blue skies (why?) to shorten the length. It’s a terrible edit where the tempo doesn’t match at all. “Flash’s Theme” not only has a different performance scene, but also a completely different movie scene, and even General Clitus from the movie appears at the end of the song. This is also original to the show, and instead of being set on the planet Mongo, it takes place in London, where she says, “Queen is the devil. She’s an evil being.” Of course, the show is the favorite. While reminiscent of “LIVE KILLERS,” it also includes new songs at the time, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “Save Me,” with bilingual subtitles for the lyrics. You can enjoy the early live version of Freddie’s singing voice as well (it may be an early characteristic that Brian loses the sound during the solo of “Save Me” and becomes a mess). In 1979, QUEEN was on the verge of reaching its peak after sending “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” to No. 1 in the United States. This is the best video where you can witness the highlight’s great performance with two types of professional shots. A cultural heritage worthy of permanent preservation.
