Description

The last concert with “those four” together, “August 9, 1986 Knebworth Performance”. A superb live album that records the whole story is now available. For the fans… no, it’s a unique stage that has a profound meaning for rock history. This show was also included in the official version of “LIVE MAGIC”, but unfortunately it was mixed with other performances, and the songs used were torn to shreds due to severe editing. . This work is a live album that allows you to fully experience the “last Freddy” without hesitation. Also, for collectors, this show is familiar to famous recordings. There is a transcendental recording that is said to be “one of the top five QUEEN audience recordings,” and it has been loved even in “ELECTRIC MAGIC” in the old days. In fact, the person who recorded this super famous recording is the master taper “Crazy S.”. This work borrowed the master cassette again from Mr. “Crazy S.” himself and re-digitized it with the latest equipment in 2019. The sound is truly overwhelming. There is no mistaking it for a sound board because it absorbs the enthusiasm that has reached its peak again, but the performance sound that reaches straight and the core of the singing voice are fully turned on, and the details are super clear. This probably depends not only on the skill of the master, but also on the venue. The venue was an outdoor stage set up at Knebworth Park. Therefore, there are no walls or ceilings that reflect sound, and there is no clouding or turbidity. Of course, the sound will not always be good when playing outdoors, and there is a risk that the sound will be blurred due to the distance, or that the sound will be blown away by the wind, but the master’s skill is to not make you feel that way. The output was recorded directly, probably because it was recorded right next to the PA. The greatness of such a great recording is that even the popular “ELECTRIC MAGIC” was called “QUEEN’s best 5”, but this work is the original. The freshness of the ultimate gene is overwhelming, and the freshness of the sound and the luster with no dubbing marks are completely different. It’s a transcendent sound that doesn’t require any “for that time” platitudes. In fact, a few years ago we introduced a re-digital version of the same concept, “KNEBWORTH 1986,” but this time we succeeded in creating an even more beautiful digital version thanks to advances in equipment. However, the previous edition was upgraded through remastering and polishing, so it cannot be said that this album has been completely reborn. However, this time, an exquisite sense of stability was achieved without any digital modifications. The very slight momentary shaking and noise have been processed, so it is not exactly 100% accurate, but it is almost the same as the real on-site sound that was absorbed from the original tape. Yet, it achieved ultra-high quality sound comparable to the remastered version. The last original QUEEN with such a transcendent sound. And the last Freddy. Every single note and voice is a series of special moments. Moreover, it is a wonderful performance even if you ignore the emotion. In the first place, “MAGIC TOUR” had two performances at Wembley Stadium, which was the site of the miracle at LIVE AID, and a special show was added for the fans who still couldn’t get in. As a result, the audience was a huge crowd of 150,000 people. There is no way that Freddie, a genuine showman who says, “The bigger the better,” won’t be enthusiastic about this big stage. Perhaps because they had a four-day break right before the show, their voices sounded better than in the latter half of the “MAGIC TOUR” show, and they were in high spirits. And if Freddie is doing well, there’s nothing scary about QUEEN. The other three performers are also dignified, and it is natural that they will be included in the official work “LIVE MAGIC”, and their wonderful performances flow out without hesitation. In the final highlight, “We Are The Champions,” Freddie mutters “I thank you all,” and the audience replies, “Thank you all.” This is the last night. This is the true document. However, there is no sense of sadness in this work. As always, Freddie is shouting with authority and singing with satisfaction. After this show, he apparently told the members that he wanted to call it a day, but he didn’t mean “I’ve reached my limit” but rather “I’ve done it”…This is a show that’s so great that you can even imagine that. . A masterpiece of a live album that allows you to experience the whole story with historical high quality sound. A piece that will become a cultural heritage of rock. ★Freddie Mercury’s last concert with Queen.
