Description
One of the highlights of the last tour “MAGIC TOUR” is “Budapest performance on July 27, 1986”. The best multi-camera pro shot has been decided to be released. Speaking of “MAGIC TOUR” highlights, there are three main ones. The Knebworth performance was the last show of two performances at Wembley Stadium, which were set to take place one year after “LIVE AID”. And then there was the Budapest performance, which was their first Eastern European performance. First, let’s take a look back at the overall view of “MAGIC TOUR” and check each position. ・May 11th: GOLDEN ROSE POP FESTIVAL [“A KIND OF MAGIC” released on June 3rd] ・June 7th-July 2nd: Europe #1 (12 performances) ・July 5th-16th: UK (5 shows) July 19th – August 5th: Europe #2 (8 shows) ←★Here★ August 9th: Knebworth show (last show) This is the whole tour. Apart from GOLDEN ROSE POP FESTIVAL, which was an event appearance, there were a total of 26 performances only in Europe. The Budapest performance of this work is the fourth performance of “Europe #2” between Wembley Stadium and Knebworth. There were only five concerts left until Freddie’s last show. This show attracted 80,000 people, more than LIVE AID, and was filmed by a Hungarian film company. Officially, “A Kind Of Magic” and “Under Pressure” were included in “LIVE MAGIC” and were also released as a video work “LIVE IN BUDAPEST 1986”. The remastered version was later made into a DVD, and it is a show that has symbolized the “MAGIC TOUR” along with the Wembley performance. This work is a professional shot version of such a Budapest performance. However, it is not the official VHS or DVD, but the Japan Broadcasting version that was aired on the music program “Golden Western Music Live” of a certain Broadcasting Corporation. Its quality is perfect. Since it was broadcast in 2008, it is an older version than the current remastered DVD (the current version was released in 2012), but since it was digitally recorded from a digital broadcast, there is no deterioration. Literally, you can enjoy plenty of official-level visual beauty. Of course, it’s not the official version. At the beginning of the program, one of Japan’s leading tenor singers gives a detailed explanation of the live performance, and Japanese subtitles are included throughout the main part of the live performance. As expected, there are no lyrics subtitles, but the title is displayed for each song, not just the MC, and a simple song explanation is included. Introducing data such as albums recorded and chart rankings, as well as little things to listen to, such as “Roger Taylor’s chorus is impressive.” It doesn’t say anything unnecessary, but it’s actually written by someone you like…these are clever subtitles. The Budapest performance depicted with such quality is still wonderful. A sense of scale and passionate performance comparable to that wonderful “QUEEN AT WEMBLEY”. Fans can fully enjoy the masterpiece that has divided its popularity, saying, “It’s better than Wembley” and “No, it’s still Wembley.” The sets are very similar, but the biggest difference is “Spring Wind (Tavaszi Szel Vizet Araszt)”. It’s a folk song that every Hungarian knows, and it was sung just for this day. It’s a wonderful scene that grabs the audience’s hearts in the same way that “Hand in Hand” is to Japan or “Las Palabras de Amor” is to South America. There will also be a documentary scene where you can enjoy Hungary for the first time. Four people are placed in four locations, and four characters are shown: Freddie practicing “Tavaszi Szel Vizet Araszt”, Brian riding a hot air balloon, John having a gentle conversation with a girl he met on the street, and Roger riding a go-kart. Although it doesn’t say much, the Japanese subtitles make the content more vivid. The film ends with an ending scene in which Roger puts a crown on his head and accidentally drops it. A masterpiece multi-camera professional shot of the Budapest performance, which represented Freddie’s last tour along with Wembley and Knebworth. This is the Japanese broadcast version. For those who have the official version, I think it’s worth collecting, but for those who are satisfied with just “QUEEN AT WEMBLEY”, I highly recommend checking it out. A piece where you can enjoy a great performance that is as good as that wonderful show. Live at Nepstadion, Budapest, Hungary 27th July 1986 PRO-SHOT Broadcast date: 22nd November 2008 1. Intro 2.
