Description
QUEEN in 1976 turned heads around the world with “A Night at the Opera.” The shocking masterpiece master is now available in a new excavation. The shocking work includes “March 11, 1976 Santa Monica Performance”. This is an excellent audience recording of the first act of “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA TOUR” vacuum-packed. It was an unexplored show for which no recording had been found until now, but suddenly a masterpiece master came out. Before we get into the shocking content, let’s talk about the show’s position. Let’s take a look at the overview of the world tour that made QUEEN famous around the world. ●1975・November 14th-19th: UK (6 performances)《A Night at the Opera” released on November 21st》・November 21st-December 24th: UK (20 performances)●1976・January 27th-March 12th: North America (33 performances)←★Here★・March 22nd-April 4th: Japan (9 performances)・April 11th-23rd: Australia (8 performances) This is it Overall picture of “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA TOUR”. The Santa Monica performance of this work is the second to last performance of the “North American” leg and the final stage. “CIVIC AUDITORIUM” had four consecutive performances, but there were days when there were two performances in one day, so this work was the fourth performance on the third day. At the same time, it was just before their second performance in Japan. This work reveals such a show, and the sound is also exquisite. What’s most amazing is the on and strong core. It’s not perfect because the bass is a little over peaked, but other than that it’s perfect. The performance and singing voice are right in front of you without any sense of distance, and the details are very clear with almost no hall noise. The clarity of fine objects such as guitars and pianos is exceptional, and even delicate touches and slight bending can be clearly seen. Freddie’s vocals are even more amazing. This is really detailed and clear. It flows into your ears with such close contact that you think that only the vocals were layered on a sound board. The recording itself is amazing, and the freshness is also amazing. In fact, this master was discovered by the prestigious company “JEMS”. It is the ultimate gene digitized directly from the original master cassette. Moreover, this work is a meticulous mastering of such original sound. Of course, I’m not trying to taint Muyayadama’s sound pressure gain. “JEMS” is releasing the truth of the master as it is, but because of this, the pitch was randomly distorted and sound duplication occurred. In this work, these shortcomings have been thoroughly corrected. We pursued dynamism with pseudo-stereo processing on the flat plate of monaural recording. As expected, the (momentary) interruptions at the beginning of “The Prophet’s Song,” “In The Lap Of Gods,” “Now I’m Here,” and the middle of “Sweet Lady” and “Liar” are flaws in the recording itself, so there’s nothing that can be done about it, but it’s rough. The new excavation master has been made as easy to listen to as possible. What is depicted with such a sound is an overwhelming show even with Freddie in peak condition. The set is standard for the North American tour, and will also be the same for the Japan performance immediately after. This is a good opportunity, so let’s sort things out here. ●QUEEN (4 songs)・Son and Daughter/Keep Yourself Alive/Liar ・Songs that cannot be heard on A NIGHT AT THE ODEON: Doing All Right ●QUEEN II (4 songs)・Ogre Battle/White Queen (As It Began)/The March of the Black Queen/Seven Seas of Rhye ●SHEER HEART ATTACK (7 songs)・Killer Queen/Bring Back That Leroy Brown/Brighton Rock/In the Lap of the Gods/Now I’m Here・A NIGHT AT THE ODEON Songs that cannot be heard: Flick of the Wrist/Stone Cold Crazy ●A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (4 songs)・Bohemian Rhapsody ・Songs that cannot be heard on A NIGHT AT THE ODEON: Sweet Lady/The Prophet’s Song/Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon ●Others・Big Spender/Rock and Roll Medley…and it goes like this. Speaking of “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA TOUR”, the official version of the Hammersmith performance is the standard in modern times, but there are plenty of songs that can not be heard there. What’s even more amazing than that is the performance itself. You’d think they’d be tired coming to the end of the tour, but they’re doing really well. Although the performance was held every day, the performance was at the same venue without moving, so there was plenty of time for the performance, and the voice was pleasant and powerful. Especially in the latter half of the show, the tension rises and it is a truly exhilarating show. QUEEN has been re-evaluated several times in the wake of the movie, and has easily transcended its era. And the vintage records continue to be unearthed throughout the ages. The latest edition is a masterpiece that lets you listen to an exquisite sound that you can’t believe was made 43 years ago. A live album that lets you fully experience shows that you have never been able to hear before. (Remaster Memo) Corrected the fast slope-like pitch for the first 10 minutes of Disc 1.
