Description
The winter of 2018 was dyed in QUEEN colors with the worldwide hit of the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody.” A Christmas live performance that is perfect for this season is here. This work includes “December 22, 1977 Inglewood Performance”. This is an audience recording of one act of “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”. The reason why this show is a Christmas album is because you can listen to the extremely valuable performance “White Christmas”. Of course, it is a Christmas standard written by Irving Berlin, but QUEEN has only played this song once before or after. It is a live album that stands at that unique scene. First of all, let’s check the position of such a miracle show in the entire world tour. ●1977《“NEWS OF THE WORLD” released on October 28th》・November 11th-December 22nd: North America (26 performances)←★Here★●1978・April 12th-May 3rd: Europe (15 performances), May 6th-13th: UK (5 performances)《Production of “JAZZ” started in July》 This is “NEWS OF THE Overall picture of “WORLD TOUR 1977-1978”. The tour was held over the years, with the 1977 edition in North America and the 1978 edition in Europe. The Inglewood performance of this work is the final day of the “North American” tour. The concert was held three days before Christmas. This show is one for which almost no record has been known so far. This work is also a treasured record that has been secretly traded only by core enthusiasts. The sound is a truly tasteful vintage audience. It’s not the type that touts things like “It’s like a soundboard” or “The tour’s best masterpiece!”, and the jittery feel isn’t aesthetically pleasing either. However, the freshness of the tape is wonderful, and he is definitely not the type to search for a band among the roaring sounds. The sound of the performance that cuts through the space and reaches your hands is very satisfying, and Freddie’s singing voice is also very strong. Even though it has a slightly noisy feel, it is surprisingly not harsh and creates a vintage mood. Although it is unfortunate that there is a slight tape deterioration in the middle “Spread Your Wings”, the sound is much easier to listen to than the LP with intense needle crackling. With such a sound, it is a show suitable for the grand finale of the tour before Christmas. Although it’s not as explosive as it sounds, there’s no cutting corners in the performance, and it’s a wonderful performance that you can thoroughly enjoy. They completed their North American tour at the end of the year, and even though they have plenty of time to spare, they are able to put all their emotions into each song and each phrase. It has a gorgeous feel, almost like a curtain call throughout. “Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy” and “White Man”, which are unique to this time of year, and “My Melancholy Blues”, which is exclusive to this tour, are also delicious, but the most important point is “White Christmas”. After the moving “Love Of My Life,” Freddie speaks as an MC celebrating Christmas and sings a standard along with a gentle acoustic guitar. His singing voice is powerful yet gentle, and filled with his inclusiveness. The audience gives a big ovation to this happy tune. This one song is the biggest highlight, but it’s not something you should listen to just one song at a time. The solemn generosity shines through because it captures the emotion of the private “Love Of My Life,” and its beauty stands out because it connects to the lighthearted “’39.” You can enjoy plenty of emotion that is more than just a wonderful singing voice. Unfortunately, the recording ends by Brian May’s solo time, but it is miraculous that it is left behind. This is a valuable live album where you can experience “White Christmas”, which is so amazing and only once. A must-try item during the 2018 Christmas season, when the streets are buzzing with QUEEN. ★Freddie sings “White Christmas” only on this day in Queen history.
