Description
The QUEEN audience’s masterpiece was suddenly announced at the end of 2020. Introducing the 2CD of the miraculous record that is making the year-end and New Year holidays all over the world!! Contained in the miraculous record is the “December 20, 1977 Long Beach performance.” This is a superb audience recording by the legendary recording artist “Mike Millard”. Many of you may already know this. The source of this work is the first appearance master that was suddenly released on December 20th, the same date as the show last year. The sound is at the highest peak among the many mirrored collections (along with LED ZEPPELIN’s “LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE”), and the content of the show is also a tremendous performance from the peak era. We have introduced countless QUEEN titles so far, but this one is definitely the best. It was such a great excavation from another dimension. I can’t get the message across if I keep repeating shock and shock, so I’ll take a moment to cool my head here… Now, speaking of “Mirror’s QUEEN”, the new excavation “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT” a year ago is also fresh in my memory, but of course this work is a different performance. On the contrary, even though they are from the same year, “1977,” the contents are very different. In order to explain the circumstances around that, let’s first look back at the schedule at that time. 1977 “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” ・January 13th – March 18th: North America #1 (40 performances) ← *L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT ・May 8th – June 7th: Europe #1 ( 19 performances)《“Dedicated to the World” released on October 28》“NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”・November 11-December 22: North America #2 (26 performances)←★Here★ April 12, 1978 Sunday-May 13th: Europe #2 (20 performances) [July-October “JAZZ” production] This is the overall picture of “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” and “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”. Both are from North America to Europe, and “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT” is the beginning of the former. On the other hand, the Long Beach performance of this work is the 24th performance of “North America #2”, which is “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”. The symbol of this “North America #2” is the professional shot of the Houston performance, but it was also the concert after the 4th performance. This work was recorded at such a show…how can I put this sound into words? Anyway, it’s perfect and supreme. You could say things like “core,” “distance,” and “detail,” but that would sound cheap and you wouldn’t be able to convey the “elegance of the sound,” where you could even feel the aura. If you are paying attention to this article, you have probably experienced mirrored recording with some band, but this work has a better sound than any of them. On the other hand, if you are wondering, “Who is Millard?”, please remember the most memorable QUEEN audience recording ever. It’s a far more amazing sound than that. It was too abstract, so when I compared it with the same mirrored recording “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT”, this work clearly has a more direct feel and sharper outline. Even bigger is the lack of audience noise. “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT” was a scorching recording of passionate applause and applause, but in this work, while the band is right in front of you, the other applause is far away (as if it were a soundboard connected directly to the table). It’s small. Let’s do one more comparison. Speaking of the best masterpiece of the QUEEN audience so far, it was “A NIGHT AT BOSTON” recorded by Dan Lumpinski in 1976, but even with that super masterpiece, it does not come close to this work. It has an incredibly tight feel, and even the crisp bass line is extremely clear. This New Year’s holiday was also the moment when the throne of the greatest masterpiece was replaced. Of course, no matter how amazing the sound is, it is meaningless if the show is bad, but in that respect, this work is worthy of being called a masterpiece. In fact, the North American tour of “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR” is also a big turning point for collectors. Before this, QUEEN was in its growth stage. While producing masterpieces one after another, their playing ability, singing ability, and performance improved with each tour. The growth reached its first peak in 1977 in North America. In fact, the set is the same as “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977 (Wardour-246)”, but let’s compare it with “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT” to get a feel for the transformation. Songs carried over from the previous tour – Scary Princess: Liar/Keep Yourself Alive – Sheer Heart Attack: Brighton Rock/Killer Queen/Now I’m Here/Stone Cold Crazy (recording missing at the beginning) – A Night at the Opera :You’re My Best Friend/’39/The Prophet’s Song/Bohemian Rhapsody・Splendid Lace:Somebody To Love/The Millionaire Waltz/White Man/Tie Your Mother Down・Others:Jailhouse Rock “L.A. FORUM 1977 2ND NIGHT” Songs I couldn’t listen to: A Night at the Opera: Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…) / I’m In Love With My Car / Love Of My Life / Splendid Lace: Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy / Dedicated to the World: We Will Rock You/Get Down Make Love/My Melancholy Blues/We Are The Champions/Sheer Heart Attack…and so on. With the three major songs “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”, the foundation that continues until the current QUEEN + Adam is completed. Furthermore, it also includes numbers that will become the core of the show, such as “I’m In Love With My Car” and “Love Of My Life”. And more than just the set, it’s the performance itself. Freddie’s vocalization has finally reached its perfection, with a full-bodied vocalization and a generous vibrato. Of course, the performances of the other three who have grown up together are also perfect, and the ensemble as a band is impregnable. Of course, there are various opinions on when QUEEN reached its peak, and there are other factors that cannot be determined based on just one work, such as the excitement of special performances and the frequency of great performances. However, in terms of performance and singing ability, QUEEN has already reached its complete form, and a great performance that can only be called a masterpiece as a single live album is unfolding. I have introduced countless QUEEN titles so far, and have called them “masterpieces” several times. However, this work has surpassed those super masterpieces at once. A masterpiece that goes beyond the conventional is not just about being “the best.” The shock of “I’ve never heard such an amazing QUEEN!” is what it means to be hit in the head. A shocking work worthy of being called a “masterpiece” from both the QUEEN’s perspective and the Mirrored Collection’s perspective. The QUEEN audience’s masterpiece was suddenly announced at the end of 2020. This is a superb audience recording of “December 20, 1977 Long Beach Performance”. It is the first public master of the legendary master Millard, but it has a better sound than any of the previously known audience recordings of QUEEN, and it is the highest peak in terms of the Millard collection. This is truly a miraculous excavation from another dimension. Moreover, the show is also a great performance. With the three major songs “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” all in one place, Freddie’s vocals and the three’s performances have reached a level of perfection. This is the birth of a new masterpiece that surpasses the previous masterpieces! Sound quality and content “AAA” (triple A). A masterpiece that rivals that “A NIGHT AT BOSTON” that suddenly appeared at the end of 2020. The new excavation master of Mirrored, where everything is miraculous. This is the pinnacle of bootleg! ! (Remastered memo) I only corrected the slightly higher pitch and increased the overall sound pressure. Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA, USA 20th December 1977 ULTIMATE SOUND Disc 1 (58:15) 1.
