Description

The European leg of the “HOT SPACE TOUR” known for its series of great performances. A new masterpiece live album is born from that treasure area. The “HOT SPACE” era is often considered to be a bad period in the general history of QUEEN, but on stage it was completely different. In particular, the European leg held at the beginning of the tour before and after the release of the album was a concentrated area of great performances and performances that are rare in QUEEN history. In recent years, the official video “QUEEN ON FIRE: LIVE AT THE BOWL” has become known for its good performance, but even that explosive tension was not special, and hyper live performances of equal or higher quality were repeated day and night. That’s why their live albums are so popular, and we have introduced many masterpieces at our store. This work is the latest installment of the wonderful “1982 Europe”. This is a masterpiece audience recording of “April 23, 1982 Brussels Performance”. Normally I would start with the overall picture of “HOT SPACE TOUR”, but I have already explained it many times. This time, let’s take a step further and organize our collection by focusing on miraculous European legs. ・April 9th + 10th (2 performances) ・April 12th “SHAKE THAT THING: DRAMMEN 1982” ・April 16th “LONG LIFE TO THE QUEEN” ・April 17th-22nd (4 performances) ・4 April 23rd: Brussels performance ←★Coco★・April 24th + 25th (2 performances)・April 18th “FRANKFURT 1982” ・May 1st: Dortmund performance ・May 3rd “PARIS 1982” ・May 5th-7th (3 performances) ・May 9th “WURZBURG 1982” ・May 10th: Böblingen performance ・May 12th + 13th “VIENNA 1982” / May 15th: Berlin performance / May 16th “HAMBURG” 1982”・May 18th “KASSEL 1982”《“HOT SPACE” released on May 21st》 ・May 21st “MUNICH 1982 1ST NIGHT” ・May 22nd: Munich performance ・May 29th “HOTTEST LEEDS 1982” ”・June 1st + 2nd “COMPLETE EDINBURGH 1982” June 5th “MILTON KEYNES 1982 COLLECTOR’S EDITION” This is the 1982 European tour. A total of 30 performances were held, and this work will be the 13th live album. Despite introducing such a large number of songs, the only song that feels like it’s not in good condition is the first one, “SHAKE THAT THING”, where the engine hasn’t fully started. Everything else is at a great performance level, and in other eras it is a show that is likely to be No. 1 on the tour. I hope you can understand how miraculous this tour was. Among them, the Brussels performance of this work was the 9th concert at the beginning of the tour, when the engine started and the miraculous tour finally started to show its true potential. And, this work, which recorded such a show, has quite a wonderful sound. In fact, no full recording has been found for this show, and two types of incomplete audience recordings are known. This work is a combination of both, but luckily it covers all the songs of the show. To be more specific, the first half, “Tape 1,” is from the beginning of the show to the reprise of “Now I’m Here.” “Tape 2” was recorded from the next “Tie Your Mother Down” until the end of the show. As a matter of fact, since the beginning of “Tie Your Mother Down” has been omitted from recording, strictly speaking it is not in its complete form, but you can listen to all the songs of the show firmly. Moreover, these two types of recordings have similar sounds, and if you don’t know anything about it, it’s a natural live album that you’ll only think is “tape change at the beginning of Tie Your Mother Down.” And the basic quality is amazing. In particular, “Tape 1” is a recently discovered clear master, which is very different from the previous version where the tape speed was wobbly. Although it is a vintage audience and not the type that can be mistaken for a sound board, its core is powerful and jumps into your hand, and the deep bass that tends to be the weak point of audience recording is thick. Moreover, it is clear that it becomes more than that. Freddie’s singing voice can be clearly understood down to every single word of the lyrics, and the details of the guitar are crisp even to the point of subtlety beyond the outline. In fact, even with the new excavation master, shaking occurs from the end of “Now I’m Here” to “Dragon Attack” (the end of Tape 1) (probably because the recorder’s battery was dead.In this work, this part (Not only that, but the whole thing has been restored with careful mastering), so it cannot be said to be completely flawless, but other than that, it is one of the best recordings of this miracle tour. Speaking of the high tension of the show depicted with such a sound! The opening sequence is “Flash” → “The Hero” → “We Will Rock You (fast)” which is familiar from “QUEEN ON FIRE”, but in fact “We Will Rock You (fast)” was revived in this song. From the day. That wonderful flow that avalanches with the new song “Action This Day” was completed on this day. Moreover, this “Action This Day” is really innocent. The performance and singing voice are fresh, but after the performance, Freddie blurts out, “This song is from “HOT SPACE.” Everyone has already bought it.” However, as you can see from the schedule above, this European leg was before the release of the album. Of course, there was no way the audience would buy it, and when the audience answered “No!”, he said, “Yeah, I haven’t done it yet,” and quickly started “Play The Game” as if to hide his embarrassment. After that, a great show will be held that makes you want to say “100% version of QUEEN ON FIRE”, but it is still similar and different. The vocal improvisation shown at various places is also unique, and because it is hyper-tension, it is unconventional and free-flowing. Furthermore, if you can’t hear it on “QUEEN ON FIRE”, it’s “Liar”. This is another brilliant performance, with a rare arrangement that includes “Back Chat” in the middle. In the following “Love Of My Life”, Brian mixes French into the MC, and a moving chorus spreads as if guided by it. It goes on and on… and there’s no shortage of interesting things to listen to. It is a show with a simple voice and a lot of momentum, but the 1982 European leg is a miracle because its peak performance creates magical moments one after another. It is a live album like that sample. The great performance of the official video “QUEEN ON FIRE” was not due to the fact that they performed in front of a large crowd in Milton Keynes. He had already started to do well more than a month before that, and it didn’t stop until that official pro shot. It is a masterpiece of a live album that is proof of that sound and has a dazzling fresh momentum even in the early stages. I’d like to say it’s a must-listen for non-maniacs, but I don’t want to make it a paradise only for maniacs and spread it too much. A hidden treasure of “1982 Europe” that is so wonderful that you want to have it all to yourself. Forest National, Brussels, Belgium 23rd April 1982 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1 (53:33) 1. Flash 2.
