Description

A wonderful, just too wonderful live album has arrived! This work contains Queen + Adam Lambert’s “London O2 Arena Performance.” The performance at the largest arena in London, QUEEN’s hometown, was vacuum-packed by Taper, a British artist who always provides many famous recordings. He is also famous for Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, but QUEEN fans may be able to appreciate his outstanding technology when they hear “the Taper of that “STILL ROCK IN HAMMERSMITH” (2012 7/14 London)” (if you haven’t heard it yet, check it out right away!). Taper always delivers great sound, and this work is the best sound in his collection. This is the 2015 version of that live album, famous as the definitive masterpiece of Queen + Adam Lambert’s early days! The masterpiece started with “Flash Intro.” and then “Seven Seas Of Rhye,” but the pole position for this work is “One Vision.” The start is reminiscent of the 1986 Magic Tour, which was Freddie’s last tour. The venue is in a frenzy with the SE intro reminiscent of “Live At Wembley”, and the thunderous guitar riff makes it boil! Those who have this work in their hands will be able to realize the greatness of the recording at this point. It fully captures the vast space of “London’s largest arena” while also maintaining the clarity of the fresh musical sound. The boiling enthusiasm is conveyed as if it were in their hands, but the extremely clear musical sound is not disturbed at all. Why can they record such a spacious and open feeling even though they can’t feel the distance from the band? When that sense of openness meets the music of QUEEN, it is sublimated into a sense of spectacle and elation. The magnificent sound and chorus spread with a sense of transparency and rain down on the audience. And the enthusiasm of the audience welcomes the music from above from below, and it feels like they gently blend in just around the line of sight. This three-dimensional effect alone is wonderful, but you can feel it spreading far and wide (I repeat, the distance between them and the band is close!). For example, “Don’t Stop Me Now”. When Adam begins to sing along with the piano, the chorus melts away. The wonderfulness of Adam’s finely controlled voice can be felt directly, and the overflowing love for QUEEN that cannot be contained is mixed into a chorus. It’s magic. This is the “audience recording magic”! In the following “Somebody To Love”, Adam’s acting skills can be fully enjoyed. His voice changes in countless ways, and at the end, his voice reverberates throughout the O2 Arena! Adam has caused shock and controversy all over the world, but he is the only person in the world who can sing this much while truly loving the world of QUEEN. Before playing the following “Love of My Life”, he talks about the joy of returning home after touring the world, and the hometown audience welcomes him warmly and responds with a warm chorus. It’s a heart-warming moment. Disc 2, starting with “Bass Solo,” is also full of moving moments. In particular, the beauty of the transition from “Save Me,” which was first performed on this UK tour, to “Who Wants To Live Forever” leaves me speechless. Adam still feels a little stiff in “Save Me,” but in “Who Wants To Live Forever,” he sings it perfectly and with a great sense of dignity. After the guitar solo that includes “Last Horizon,” he has a lot of fun with the audience in “All Your Love / Vocal Jam,” and the climax comes as he plays one familiar super-famous song after another! QUEEN gets the 20,000-strong crowd going wild. Just like in “ROCK BIG BEN LIVE,” he made a mistake in the guitar solo of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on this day (why, even though he’s played it hundreds of times?), but even that didn’t bother him and the crowd got really excited. Yes, the fans in their hometown were also waiting for QUEEN. They were actually lonely. You can feel that feeling. It’s so painfully obvious. This is why audience recordings can’t be stopped! I wrote “mixed opinions” in this article, but I’m going to stop calling them that. Two years ago, Queen + Adam Lambert performed in front of about 5,000 people at Hammersmith. Now they fill a large venue of 20,000 people every night in their hometown. Certainly, the complicated feelings will not disappear from now on. It can’t be helped. But at the same time, they are the only ones who can rain down the masterpieces on the large venue. Moreover, it’s not just a topic of conversation, because the audience in their hometown is singing happily as you can hear in this work. The happiness revived in modern times and the grand spectacle that can only be achieved in a large venue. We bring you the masterpieces of audience recording made possible by 2015 technology.
