Description

In late 2015, just before Prince performed new songs and gigs at Paisley Park, an unreleased live performance in Toronto, Canada, which was the final stage of the live performance with 3rd Eye Girls and others, has appeared. Canadian live shows rarely have sound sources, and most of the Welcome 2 Canda tour remains undiscovered. However, I am very happy that this precious 3rd Eye Girs record from the time when the last members and Prince were completely united is now available. First show on May 19th. Wow! begins with Prince muttering “hello” and the audience goes wild with just that one word. After that, he sings “Hello, how are u” again, and little by little Prince begins to leave the vocals to Liv, while he concentrates on the thundering guitar. This is a wonderful version that is very smooth and takes care of the ribs. That overwhelming guitar eventually became the intro to Funknroll and led to Funknroll’s rock funk. After condensing the good parts of the song in just under 4 minutes, the rock continued and moved on to Rock And Roll Love Affair. This pop song makes you think it’s a condensed version, but even when it seems like it’s about to end, it starts playing again and extends it. From there, there is a wonderful performance of keyboard and guitar, Rock And Roll Love Affair, and a call and response with the audience chanting. Before I knew it, it was an amazing play that ended up being an 8 minute extended version. Pretzelbodylogic was a rare song, including the LOL tour, but it was played a lot from the second half, and here it was combined with The Sailor’s Hornpipe and Strutusm, and in the second half, Prince’s elegant piano solo, Hannah’s drums, etc. There is also a solo, which is very interesting to listen to, and as a result, it is one of the completed versions of this medley. After playing a melancholy guitar intro for a long time, it gradually becomes a slow version of Dreamer. A shocking performance that resembles Prince’s version of Come Together, a sad blues song that lasts for 12 minutes. Then, when Prince mutters that Donna loves the guitar, they play the guitar thrillingly. Prectrum electrum continues to maintain its fast-paced feel, and the rock-rock stage ends with Prince’s voice saying “Thank you, Toronto!”. However, without taking much of a break, he released a reloaded version of Prince’s Let’s Go Crazy, which is synonymous with rock music. There was another break for a while, and this time is it a new song? A quiet and very broken cover of Elvis Presley’s Love Me Tender that makes you think. This becomes a very nice intro to The Beautiful Ones. During the following Something In The Water, the band’s performance was the same, but Prince’s piano fingering and excitement were a miracle, and I thought he was somehow conscious of the upcoming Piano and a Microphone Tour. It’s so overwhelming. From there, the hit songs begin to flow, with the band’s sound of Take Me With U and Raspberry Beret’s pop duo, U Got The Look, and then smoothly flowing into When Doves Cry, which doesn’t feel like a sampler set. , Sign O The Times, Prince sings perfectly and is at one with the audience, so he says, “You guys are crazy,” and starts singing to play Darling Nikki. Beautiful Girls In The World ends quickly, and Prince finally starts singing with I Would Die 4 U. And for Purple Rain, the intro is quite short and the song starts right away, making it a simple version that feels like it serves as a link to the song that follows. And the backing piano of Kiss is a new and thrilling phrase that has never been seen before, so it would be no exaggeration to call this a new version. The chorus by Liv Warfield, Theda Wright, and Ashley Jay is also soulful and a very funky version. And after the third break, The Love We Make was played. I think this song has a finale, but there was still a true final song. Nothing Compares 2 U. It makes me think about what kind of ending the second show will have, whether it will be Purple Rain or not. In fact, the performance of the last two songs, with Prince’s piano and vocals coming to the fore, makes you feel that he is still motivated. I don’t think this is the end and I don’t want to go home. And the second show on May 19, 2015. From Donna’s MC, the intro included the Million $ Show sung by Judith Hill, which was played on the Hit N Run tour in 2015, and the show ended with a reloaded version of Let’s Go Crazy. Prince really has a variety of openings. The songs from Take Me With U, Raspbery Beret, and U Got The Look before heading off to the karaoke set at the first show were played again, and to see what would happen, the classic songs The Question Of U and The One were played in a calm atmosphere. To the medley. Electric Man’s phrase also appears. Then there’s Contorversy, which is keyboard-based but different from the intro from around 2012 with Renato Neto, which is a little spacey but doesn’t have a cutting guitar. When the song starts, cutting appears and it becomes the usual atmosphere, but as usual, that cutting. The songs change into phrases you’ve never heard before, so you won’t get bored. 1999 and the first set are rock, and this second set is divided into R&B. However, what follows is Little Red Corvette, a song that bridges the gap to rock. After Prince chants, “There’s no one like Prince,” it leads into Nothing Compares 2 U, which is the first break. And Kiss, as expected, is a new version that has changed like the first set, and it is also new that the last part continues to cut into the keyboard phrase. We were trying to perform a live performance that would progress even further towards the end. And he announced that he would play 17 songs in the sampler set from When Doves Cry, including Forever In My Life, Nasty Girl, Dilling Nikki, Pop Life, I Would Die 4 U, A Love Bizarre, Love, The Screams Of Passion, If I Many of the songs, such as Was Your Girlfriend, U Know, and Funknroll, are between 10 seconds and less than a minute long, but Housequake has a great rap-like Prince, and Hot Thing also sings properly from the MC. 17 Days is a rare performance, and here too there is a call-and-response of Toronto while making the audience move their hands to the right and left with the inciting MC, but unfortunately Prince does not sing. But this does mean that Prince was a DJ until Funknroll. In other words, he was practicing the type of DJing that an old-fashioned disc jockey would do, stirring up the crowd while playing instrumental parts. And before we leave, we have to go back to 1982, playing a mashup of Cool and Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough. From here, it will be a true live performance. However, that song is the end, and it becomes the second break. And the piano set starts with Diamonds & Peals. However, this song is small, and like the first set, Elvis’ Love Me Tender is sung quietly but cheerfully without breaking down. And then there’s The Beautiful Ones, which is a short two minutes long, and from there it’s the big finale, Purple Rain. It will be a 15-minute version that takes all of your heart and soul. If Prince did not return to Minneapolis and continued to perform with 3rd Eye Grils and Liv, this is a wonderful pairing of two rare and top-class live performances that give us a glimpse of a different future. Includes a bonus soundboard of U Got The Look from the second show, and Let’s Go Crazy from Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary party.
