Description

The first day of Prince’s Japan tour on the ONA tour, an additional performance, was held at the International Forum in Tokyo on November 15, 2002. Prince’s first visit to Japan in almost seven years since the Gold Experience tour, and while the audience was anxious about whether he was really coming or if it was a lie, Prince showed us a great show full of energy from the very first day! He brought along the best members of the band, including funk preacher Maceo Parker and the best drummer in Prince’s history, John Blackwell! From Prince’s drum solo to the jazzy Rainbow Children, the performance was quite long but never boring, and it was enough to make you cry! Then the intro to Pop Life, the song everyone wanted to hear, was already performed at this position, and it was so moving! Prince’s MC, “Is this what you wanted to hear?”, was followed by the piano intro Purple Rain! Then he played the purple guitar, Habibi, and performed a great performance with the most emotional guitar solo I’ve ever heard, not just a full-length performance! No one will not cry after hearing this! In the funky songs The Work, 1+1+1=3, Pass The Peas, Maceo’s amazing blow and the band’s unified development with John and Rhonda supporting the lower body will give you goosebumps! And the bluesy When You Were Mine is also great, but after that, the bluesy guitar continues and you wonder what song it is, and it’s Sign O The Time! You only understand this thrill when Prince starts singing! And the full-length live versions of the classic Take Me With U and Raspberry Beret are also must-listen! And the funkiest song on this album, The Everlasting Now, under Prince’s cue, the band transforms freely, and the pleasant betrayal continues, the funk competition! And the encore is a piano set, one of the highlights of this tour is already performed at this point! It’s the performance of the classic Sometimes Snows In April, which makes you think that there will never be another performance with such feeling! After singing along to the wonderful phrases of The Ladder, they played How Come U Don`t Call Me Anymore?, the rare Empty Room and other great songs! Then they finished off with Anna Stesia….This is Prince and his band at the height of their power! Prince was in top condition and giving a great performance in his career! A super live performance that was truly historic and garnered applause! This is a must-have item that you can’t talk about Prince without listening to it.
