Description
Long-awaited! Prince’s latest 24-year outtake collection is released! First, the piano demo at Sunset Sound Studios. A 16-minute medley of songs that were not released anywhere at the time except for “Do Me, Baby”, played beautifully and nobly to the point of moving you to tears. The unreleased version of “She’s Always In My Hair” at Sunset Sound Studios is a very primitive demo because it does not include the Yamaha DX7 effect. “Wouldn’t You Love To Love Me?” is the same version as the existing one, but the sound quality is of official quality. And “Sex” is the first appearance of the remix that Prince made for Lois Lane in early 1992, with Prince singing it. “Bedtime Story” is a pseudo-duet song that cleverly overlays Sheila E’s voice over Prince’s rehearsal recording, and it is very well done. “Anna Waiting” is the version that Prince gave to Anna Garcia, and later the lyrics were changed to “Vicky Waiting” and included in “Batman”, but it is interesting that it actually has a different demo-like sound. This time, we have included two versions, the leaked version and the one that was later remastered using “Vicky Waiting”. “100 MPH” is a long version with Prince’s vocals, but the composition is different from the previous ones, it develops like an extended version and is slightly longer. And “United States Of Division” has improved sound quality and a different mix, with more horns in the foreground. “Magnificent” has improved sound quality and a bouncy sound. And “Silver Tongue” was already a demo version, and this time it is a little shorter, but drums have been added and Prince has completed it as a song. And we also included “Silver Tongue” sung by Nikka Costa. This one has drums and strings added. Here is Nikka Costa’s comment on “Silver Tongue” on July 13, 2017. “Prince emailed me years ago asking for a verse, so I sent it to him, and he sent me back this amazing jazz song, just with piano. I was so blown away by it, and I really wanted to record it, but it didn’t fit on any of my records. His version became the B-side of his single “Call My Name.” It was one of my proudest moments to write the song he wanted with me. And this time, when I was preparing for the album, I was listening to a lot of old songs, and I happened to come across “Silver Tongue” and realized that it actually fits the album. “And then there’s Nikka Costa’s “Around The World,” with Prince on guitar. It’s a very cool tune with funky cutting that’s typical of Prince. And then there’s “Goodbye,” an outtake from the “Lovesymbol” album period. It starts off hip-hop-style with Tony M’s rap, and after Prince’s vocals come in, the jazz elements come in, and it’s a very dramatic song, even though it’s just under two minutes long. Love and war are both fair, but only love is worth dying for, the song goes. 1.Father’s Song 2.Venus De Milo 3.God 4.Raspberry Beret 5.You’re My Love 6.Wednesday 7.Do Me, Baby 8.Moonbeam Levels Piano Demo,Sunset Sound, February 7, 1984 9.She’s Always In My Hair (Demo) Sunset Sound, December 29, 1983 10.Wouldn’t You Love To Love Me? mo) Sunset Sound, April 1, 1982 11.Sex (1992 Remix) 12.Bedtime Story (with Sheila E) Midsouth Coliseum, Memphis, January 25th, 1985 13.Anna Waiting (Original Demo) 14.Anna Waiting (Remaster) 15.100 MPH (Extended Version) 16.United States Of Division 17.Magnificent 18.Silver Tongue 19.Silver Tongue (vo.
