Prince’s Nude Tour began on June 2, 1990, and ended with a performance in Japan, and the US performance was not included in the tour. However, in fact, there were only two live performances related to the Nude Tour in the US. One of them was a live performance at the Civic Center in St. Paul on May 6, 1990, before the start of the Nude Tour. There was a recording of that with a high-quality audience with a realistic sound quality titled Born In St. Paul, but it was out of print, and this time we will release a reprint of it on CDR, including the bonus MC Flash session (in fact, Margie Cox and others played as the opening act under the name Flash. Unfortunately, there is no live recording of that time, but the songs by Prince that are included in the bonus were performed live by Michael B’s drums, etc.). Unlike the later Nude Tour, the local live performance in St. Paul includes Scandalous in the set. And the performance has Prince’s slightly broken singing style and a development that has never been heard before, making it an absolute masterpiece. And another difference is the development at the end. The inclusion of Baby I’m A Star and Respect, etc., changes in various ways even on the Nude Tour, so here too they do an interesting jam, but then Partyman is played with a very wonderful performance at the end. Partyman was a hit song, reaching 18th place as a single, but it seems that they considered it more important in live performances than the number one single Batdance. In addition, for this limited time only, we will include a CD disc containing another live performance that was held only twice in the United States, the benefit concert when Big Chick, famous as Prince’s bodyguard, passed away. This sound source has existed between trades for some time, but it was not released due to sound quality issues. It is thought to be an audience recording, but the sound cuts out quite frequently (like when the video cuts out), and there is also noise in the latter half. Therefore, it was not released because it is only valuable as a document, not for appreciation. Nevertheless, there is also the jam of Baby I’m A Star in the latter half and the rare play Scandalous (it’s a shame that the sound cuts out quite a bit around here), and the differences in the early live arrangements should be studied.
