Prince’s first birthday event was a special gig held on June 7, 1984 at First Avenue in his hometown of Minneapolis. This precious live performance, held just before the release of the album Purple Rain and the movie of the same name, reached the peak of his popularity worldwide. Unlike the Purple Rain tour that followed, this performance featured a rare set list full of new and unreleased songs that were performed live for the first time that day.
