That Sendai performance was released as an audience recording, but this time, the recording has been completely remastered and released. With the debut of Nikka Costa’s Push and Pull, The Everlasting Now, and Purple Rain, just when you thought it was over, Prince and his band unleashed a blistering, completely unexpected setlist. The finale, “Anna Stesia” and “Rise Up,” seemed like a quiet end, but then the even more astounding “Days of Wild” interjected with Boochy’s “Bootzilla.” While everyone was screaming, “This is amazing!” and trembling with emotion, Prince appeared onstage alone, guitar in hand.
