Prince/Japan Tour 2002 Soundcheck Collection

A compilation of sound checks from ONA’s Japan tour! They are arranged in order of performance, and all are recorded with high quality audience recordings! First, the sound check on the first day, the 15th, where Prince finally appears while the band plays an instrumental version of Last December, and the first funky jam to land in Japan, Give Some More! Then, the sound checks on the 18th and 19th at the Budokan, Stevie Wonder’s Living 4 The City, and A Case Of U, which was only shown at the sound check at this time of the Japan tour, are recorded, and the sound checks are simply masterpieces! However, the real highlight is Disc 2! First, Cream’s cover from the Fukuoka performance, Sunshine Of Your Love! This rockish performance boasts a power that cannot be heard at any of ONA’s performances, and this one song alone is worth buying! And at the very popular Osaka performance, an amazing sound check was actually performed! The sudden chopper bass explosion of Hair, 777-9311, The Stick, this tension was already heard in the sound check, and cool funky jams were performed in rapid succession, Eric’s solo was also inserted, and by the time of If You Want Me To Stay, I was already in a state of being crazy, I don’t care! As a service to such a melting Osaka audience, When Doves Cry was played for a moment! From there, it was already a world of sensuality, and after the emotional play of Alexa De Paris, please enjoy plenty of dazzling instrumentals by Prince’s keyboard! After the exciting stage in Sendai, I’m sure they were pleased with this sound check and performed the longest live show during their main show in Japan! What an amazing Osaka sound check! And the final performance was Superstition, which was performed at the sound check on the last day in Nagoya! I can’t believe this song was heard in Japan! Speaking of funky, this song is played casually as a business card, and it was a tear-jerking performance! Although there was no after-show at the Japanese performances, and Sendai was certainly one of them, it was still a big deal to be able to listen to the sound check that replaced the after-show and enjoy the freaky atmosphere all at once!
