Description
The biggest incident at the end of 2020! A new soundboard recording of 21 Night Stand is now available! What’s more, the two nights that can be said to be the highlights of that tour have both been skillfully remastered, with only a few parts of the sound cut out, and are recorded in such a way that they can be called complete recordings! On April 30th, No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani and Nikka Costa, and on May 6th, Whitney Houston will perform scat with Prince and other bands. This is the last collaboration between Whitney and Prince. First of all, Discs 1 and 2 are from the 7th day of the 21 Night Stand tour. This is the live performance on April 30th. There is an audience recording, but although it was rare, the sound quality was not that good, and such a sound board sound source was long-awaited. DMSR’s opening with the drums that gives you a sense of the freshness of John from the sound of thunder, Pop Life, which is the light jazz of Scrapple From The Apple in the second half, and Musicology, which has a groovy bass progress, at the time it was added in March 2011. Extraordinary songs have been added to the new medley. John played a drum solo, No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani appeared, and Prince and her duet of Take Me With U Manor’s masterpiece, So Far, So Pleased from Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, were played for the first time. It is. It’s not just a play, it’s a song that is played almost faithfully to the studio song, and the parts where Hamoru sings it also seem to be the studio version. On the other hand, there are parts that make you think you can only hear a live performance, such as the freaky keyboard and the guitar solo at the right place. Nguyen is also singing, but I’m overcome with emotion and end up screaming. You can feel that freshness because it is a sound board whose sound is so good that it gives you goosebumps. The medley of The Question Of U/The One actually includes Beggin Woman Blues. And “I Feel For You,” which is rare these days, is played by the MC saying, “Chaka Khan isn’t here tonight.” The bluesy cutting played there is super cool. There is actually a part of Taja Civil’s If I Could Get Your Attention sung by the backing chorus, but unfortunately it was cut. However, without making anyone realize this, they skipped the cutting intro and moved on to Controversy. Includes Love Rollercoaster cutting. With Sheila E, the medley from The Glamorous Life, Nothing Compares 2 U with Shelby, Take Me With U, and great hits are played one after another without getting bored. And the cover of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love when the set started again is a very happy rare play. The drums slowly come in from the bass line, and Prince’s guitar is funky with a phrase different from the original song. And the singer is Nikka Costa. It sounds like a young Robert Plant because the high parts are sung. It’s interesting to see Prince completely arranging the melody for the freakier, lower part than when it was covered on the Musicology tour. A specification that involves Nikka’s shout. To top it all off, a fire-breathing guitar comes over the top. It is a famous version that gradually builds up and ends with an overwhelming rock world. This song was said to be rock’n’roll, Prince mutters at the end. This is a complete piano set. Something In The Water has a new broken melody and singing style, and the honky piano with a jazzy band backing is also wonderful, and the new arrangement Strange Relationship and the rare play of this time continue. And then Prince plays the piano again, How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore. Prince sings it faithfully without breaking it down too much. It only takes a little over a minute, so you’ll be left wanting to listen to it a little longer. From there, songs such as If I Was Your Girlfriend, Kiss, and Purple Rain continue, which are like a prelude to the final stage. From Prince’s Sexy Dancer guitar to Sexy Dancer VS Le Freak (there’s a cut here, but the editing is great), Play That Funky Music, Hollywood Swinging after it heats up and becomes a heavy drum and bass groove. The lyrics are Prince’s original, and he sings that he called Michael Jackson to LA and went to Sheila E’s stage with the Twins. The dry Lynn drums, the cheap sound of the keyboard, and Prince’s cutting are about to end, but the bass comes back and continues. It also incorporates the Eye Like Funky Music chant, making it the best Hollywood Swinging party song that will get even VIPs buzzing. And a sampler set. I haven’t really sung When Doves Cry because I’ve kept going back and forth between no and no, but after Nasty Girl I played Party All The Time by Eddie Murphy and Rick James, and Beyoncé’s Single Ladies. With Sign O The Time, Prince finally begins to sing properly. I’m glad that Hot Time sings the same way, and Black Sweat sings with a lot of effort, falsetto and shouting. And although Prince provokes Love with Woo and Clap You Heen, in the end he easily says no and goes home. Then, in the final encore, The Bird, which sounds like a fanfare, Prince sings enthusiastically, Jungle Love shouts “o-o-o-o-o-o-o,” Sheila, who has been there until now, and the backing chorus all come together to feature Renato’s keyboard (The Glamarous It ends with a medley of A Love Bizarre, a short play. It’s a great concert performance that you’ll want to listen to over and over again. Discs 3 and 4 are on the 8th day, and the first show in May, May 5th, begins with Renato Neto’s beautiful piano intro. The orchestration is also played in the background, making it a very solemn arrangement. After about 5 minutes, the phrase “The Love We Make” appears, and the drums come in and the song is about to start, but Prince’s performance has not come out yet. As soon as Prince’s vocals finally enter, you will be able to feel how the performance tightens up with the wonderful soundboard recording. The guitar seems rather understated, but the delicacy comes through through the quality of the sound. The chorus and humour parts in the second half are also wonderful. In the following Shhh, Prince finally explodes in earnest, expressing his musical world with more guitars than usual. Prince shouts out to all the cool people, a mashup of Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough and Cool, and then Let’s Work. It’s cool to see them jamming on the bass in the intro. The phrase “Give It To Me Baby” is included, but the backing changes and Prince also shouts “Give it to me, baby.” A solid performance of U Got The Look, followed by the sound of thunder, followed by a medley of The Question Of U and The One. Suddenly, the new song U Will B With Me appears and is sung for the first time at the beginning. It’s a troubling song about how he and you are like cookies without milk, and you and I are like a brand new bed wrapped in purple silk. In the middle of the song, the audience sings the chorus, U will B with Me, even though it’s a new song. I guess it’s because the chorus is so simple that it’s easy to remember. Even after The One appears in the second half, the audience continues to sing along to that simple chorus. There is a jazzy guitar solo at the end, but it is wonderful as it shows off the piano and the exquisite ensemble. This is the highlight performance of this live performance, which is over 13 minutes long. But another shock was just around the corner. Musicology has Prince’s cutting in an unusually lively arrangement. The second half including Prince And The Band becomes a jam containing that new phrase. Finally, the lady soul, the goddess Whitney Houston, appears, stirring up the audience with her hoarse voice. Who does Prince think she is? It screams Whitney Houston, but to be honest, there’s something painful about it. If you compare it to Shelby singing, you can clearly see the difference. Unfortunately, this is Whitney Houston at that time. There is no way. There will also be chants of Eye Like Funky Music. Then suddenly Stratus, Shelby and others’ Angel, Shelby comes out and Prince and Nothing Compares 2 U, and the ballad with Renato and Sometimes It Snows In April, which is characterized by Prince’s slightly broken singing style. Since it is a sound board, all of these will impress the listener. However, while Take Me With U is good, Raspberry Beret has some really bad songs. Of course, it must have been someone in the audience singing, not Prince. The song was so bad that Prince provided security! he yells, adding some thrilling guitar to disguise it. The connection from there to the guitar is nothing short of exquisite. He was a comedian named Cedric The Entertainer. I’m singing without paying attention to the backing, so it’s a mess. However, the members of NPG are amazing at being able to work together even in such incidents. Controversy includes Housequake chants, but it is a short performance of about 5 minutes. And then there’s a series of happy hits, from Let’s Go Crazy to Purple Rain. And more hit songs from the sampler set, Prince sings on When Doves Cry, although there are many Come on, and also sings on Sign O The Time, Alphabet St., A Love Bizarre, and I Would Die 4 U. Then, the backing band returns with If I Was Your Girlfriend, and Kiss is played in a way that connects without any hesitation. While the intro was being played, the audience was brought up to the stage and everyone seemed to be excited. This song is the last and it will be a very interesting closing during the tour.
