Prince’s Piano and a Microphone Tour features never-before-seen sound sources! This is Show 1 of the Montreal performance on March 21, 2016. The sound quality is realistic, and it is a wonderful audience recording that conveys Prince’s solid performance. From the opening of Big City, they performed the shocking America B-side song Girl in a moist and lively piano version! Then, he sang the new song Look At Me, Look At U on the piano, and then smoothly moved to A Case Of U, and the super bluesy “U Got The Look” completely deviated from the original song. The honky Elephants & Flowers is also a shocking version with a wonderful and appealing melody. A mashup of Waiting In Vain and If I Was Your Girlfriend, and the piano version of the famous song A 1000 Hugs And Kisses is amazing! The piano version of Somewhere Here On Earth is also wonderful, but it is a tearful play that inserts Diamonds And Pearls in two parts. Then there’s the beautiful Purple Rain, This Doesn’t End, Kiss, the shocking piano funk of New Position, a highlight that can only be heard here, and finally, Purple Music, which can be called the theme song, builds up the momentum. It was then accelerated to the performance of Free Urself. It’s truly a miracle that such a live performance still exists, with extremely rare songs and arrangements that can only be heard here, and one of the best performances in Montreal.
