Description
The “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” is known as a hidden gem of sound sources in the history of THE POLICE. This superb soundboard album is now available. This work permanently preserves the “March 20, 1982 Houston Performance.” This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of the “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” soundboard, the classic album “GATESHEAD 1982” reigns supreme, but this work can be considered its North American version. First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activities at the time and check their respective positions. 1981 “ZENYATTA MONDATTA Tour” ・January 7th-20th: North America #1 (7 shows) ・January 25th-February 7th: Japan (10 shows) ←※BUDOKAN 1981 etc. ・February 10th-26th: Oceania (10 shows) ←※MELBOURNE 1981 “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” ・July 29th-30th / August 22nd-23rd: Warm-up (4 shows) ・October 1st-9th / December 12th-31st: Europe #1a (17 shows) 1982 ・January 3rd-11th: Europe #1b (7 shows) ・January 15th-February 13th: North America #2 (21 shows) ←※HERE IN NEW HAVEN February 16-20, 1982: South America (4 shows); March 12-April 22: North America #3 (29 shows); July 2-31: Europe #2 (5 shows); GATESHEAD 1982: August 9-September 6: North America #4 (18 shows). This is a complete look at the activities surrounding “GHOST IN THE MACHINE.” “GATESHEAD 1982” is a live album version of the same show as the official video “LIVE GHOST IN THE MACHINE,” recorded in their native England. The Houston performance in this work was the seventh performance of “North America #3,” approximately three months earlier. This work, which conveys such a show, is truly a beautiful soundboard. While this is a previously known sound source, this is the latest version, newly digitized from the master tape. The sound is truly “fully official.” The detail is even more subtle than on “GATESHEAD 1982,” with crystal-clear detail in every note and subtle guitar effects. This incredible quality is only possible with Master Direct. There’s no crushing or distortion in the finest details, and every detail is natural. This feels more like an official high-quality CD than a bootleg. In other words, like “Mobile Fidelity” and “Nimbus Supercut,” it’s a sound that’s on a level where the sound left on magnetic tape is faithfully digitized and accurately transferred to CD media. The mix also has a beautiful symmetry. It’s a bit strange, but while the cheers on this album are so far away that it seems like it’s directly connected to the console, the ensemble is too well-balanced for a live mix. Was it an FM broadcast with a strong aesthetic sense for live performance, or a direct-connected soundboard that was accidentally recorded with miraculous balance? Either way, it’s a masterpiece that combines vividness and beauty. This live performance from the rare “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” is depicted with such beautiful, clear sound. Unfortunately, the first three songs are missing, making it incomplete, but it’s still a satisfying 79 minutes. This tour also features exclusive tracks, so be sure to check them out. Ghost in the Machine (5 tracks), Spirits in the Material World / Hungry For You (*) / Demolition Man / One World (Not Three) / Invisible Sun Others (9 tracks): Outlandos d’Amour: Roxanne / Can’t Stand Losin’ You / So Lonely White Regatta: Walking On the Moon / Bring On The Night Zenyatta Mondatta: When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of What’s Still Around / De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da / Shadows In The Rain (*) / Don’t Stand So Close To Me Note: * denotes tracks exclusive to this tour. While the absence of the first three tracks is a shame, it’s a blessing that the tour-exclusive tracks “Hungry For You” and “Shadows In The Rain” have been retained. While it doesn’t quite match “GATESHEAD 1982” in length, it’s still a beautiful soundboard album. This master sound, with its beautiful sound alone, reigns supreme as the “two pinnacles of the Ghost in the Machine Tour.” This is a stereo soundboard recording from the Houston performance on March 20, 1982. Newly digitized from the master tapes, this is a “fully official” update of the highest quality. There’s no distortion or crushing even in the finest details, and every detail is natural, with exquisite detail, revealing the nuances of each note and even the subtle effects applied to the guitars. This is the birth of a new masterpiece, allowing you to fully enjoy the precious “Ghost in the Machine Tour” in stunning sound. The Summit, Houston, TX, USA 20th March 1982 STEREO SBD UPGRADE!!!
