Description

Our THE POLICE soundboard series, which has been archived as the best master. Introducing the FM soundboard album that will further enhance the collection. This work records the “April 6, 1980 Berlin performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. If you have noticed this article, you may know that the early THE POLICE tour could not be limited to “○ year”, and in 1980, the “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour” and “ZENYATTA MONDATTA Tour” were divided depending on the time. Let’s take a bird’s-eye view of what position this work is in, along with the masterpieces of each leg. “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour” ・January 11th: Hamburg performance ・January 20th – February 8th: North America #1 (14 performances) ←※ AGORA BALLROOM 1980 ・February 14th – 20th: First visit to Japan (6 performances) ←※ NAKANO SUNPLAZA 1980 ・February 26th – March 28th: Hong Kong / Oceania / Egypt (14 performances) ・March 30th – April 28th: Europe #2 (14 performances) ←★Here★ “ZENYATTA MONDATTA Tour” ・July 26th – September 2nd: Europe #3 (16 performances) ←※ BEZIERS 1980《October 3rd 『ZENYATTA MONDATTA” released ・October 15th + 18th: West Germany (2 performances) ← *ROCKPALAST appearance ・October 21st – December 8th: North America #2 / South America (34 performances) ・December 21st – 23rd: UK (3 performances) This is THE POLICE in 1980. Speaking of 1980, the legendary first visit to Japan is the most symbolic, but the Berlin performance of this work is about two months later. It was the sixth concert of “Europe #2”, the final stage of the first half of the “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour”. We have already reported on “Europe #2” in the masterpiece “LYON 1980: FM REEL MASTER”, but this work was also the show before that. This work conveys such a stage, and it is a vintage but fiercely vivid real sound board. Although the performance of “LYON 1980” was vivid, the finish by the mix and effects was also official style. In contrast, this work is full of real life. This work was originally an FM broadcast, but the raw sound and rough balance of the straightforward performance sound make it feel like a live studio live broadcast (although it is actually a hall concert of 12,000 people, which is a size larger than the Budokan). More important than such raw sound is the complete recording of the full show. The most recent work “LYON 1980: FM REEL MASTER”, which has been mentioned earlier, was edited to just under an hour according to the broadcast frame, but this work is overwhelming in terms of the number of songs. Let’s organize it while comparing it here. Outlandes d’Amour (8 songs + α) Next to You (2 takes) / So Lonely / Walking On the Moon / Hole in My Life / Truth Hits Everybody (★) / Roxanne / Can’t Stand Losing You (Regatta De Blanc) / Born in the 50’s Others (8 songs) White Regatta: Deathwish / Bring on the Night (★) / The Bed’s Too Big Without You (★) / Message in a Bottle Others: Driven to Tears (★★) / Visions of the Night (★) / Landlord / Fall Out (★) *Note: The “★” mark is a song that was not heard on the most recent soundboard “LYON 1980: FM REEL MASTER”. In particular, the “★★” mark is a song that was not even on the famous Japanese performance album “NAKANO SUNPLAZA 1980: DEFINITIVE MASTER”. …And so on. Not only has the number of songs increased, but “Driven to Tears” from “ZENYATTA MONDATTA”, which will begin production three months later, has already been shown. This song has begun to be played from the Oceania leg, and this work allows you to enjoy the precious early version on a sound board directly connected to the brain. The sound with a slightly vintage feel is half a step short of the official class, but the complete recording is great. This live album allows you to fully enjoy the full show at the end of the “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour”, which is different from the first visit to Japan, with a vivid sound board. Stereo sound board recording of “Berlin performance on April 6, 1980”. A vintage yet fiercely vivid real sound board, it is a straightforward performance sound despite being FM broadcast. And the best thing is the complete recording of the show. The next show of this work is also a sound board board “LYON 1980: FM REEL MASTER”, but in this work you can enjoy plenty of repertoire that you cannot hear there.
