Description

A mysterious extremely rare promo LP said to be produced by Capitol in the United States is recorded directly from the real thing and turned into a CD. This is probably the first time this item has been released on CD. It is rarely seen as a featured item at second-hand shops, but it is a gem (?) with a considerable premium price. This item, which is said to have been distributed to American radio stations in 1975 to promote a North American tour, is very mysterious. First of all, at first glance, it looks just like a vintage analog boot, with only a rough stamp of the artist’s name, album title, and recorded songs on the front of the white jacket. The back side is pure white with nothing printed on it, making it even more suspicious. . . However, the label side of the record has a white promotional label design, and EMI credits are printed at the bottom of the label on Side 1, and the matrix number of the record is “SPRO-8116-F・1・” for Side 1. Side 2 is handwritten as “SPRO-8117-F・1”, and both sides are engraved with “MASTERED BY CAPITOL” in typeface, which makes me feel at ease (?), “Is this a promo disc produced by Capitol?” ). The contents of the album are also incomprehensible, with a parade of song selections that will make you break out in a cold sweat, making it hard to believe that this was a promo for the 1975 tour. Judging from the title, one would tend to imagine “a precious live recording from 1975!”, but the actual song selection and content is completely different from that, with tracks 1-5 being regular studio takes, and only 6-7 being live takes. However, this is a quote from the live track of the album “Umaguma”. In particular, tracks 1 to 3 of the album “Kumo no Kage” have never been performed live at all, and the 5th song “Fat De Yoyoro” was also removed from the live set list by 1971, so it feels like it’s too late. Of course, “Nuguezu”, “Heaven’s Rule”, and “Eugene” were not played on the 1975 tour. Anyway, both the appearance and the contents are full of mysteries, and there seems to be a lot of discussion on specialized sites about why such a promo disc was produced, whether it’s real or fake, so why not check it out for yourself? . However, “Heaven’s Rule” and “Eugene”, which happened to be (probably) included here, are live versions from the album “Umaguma”, which was also included in the rough mix version of “Rarities” released this week. It’s true that this is a good timing item, and this may be due to some kind of connection, so why not take this opportunity to get it? A mysterious super rare promo LP is now available on a special disc! Taken from “Tour/’75” US Promo LP (SPRO-8116/8117)(41:08) 1. The Gold It’s In The… 2. Wots… Uh The Deal 3. Free Four 4. One Of These Days 5. Fat Old Sun 6. Astronomy Domine (Live) 7. Careful With That Ax, Eugene (Live)
