Description
A definitive edition of outtakes from “Flame” and “Animals,” which became a hot topic when they appeared in early 2014! The one I used for the master was a fan remastered version based on one that was recently uploaded to the internet. Originally, in 2014, when these outtakes first appeared and became a hot topic, they appeared on analog records made overseas, and from there they were immediately released on CD. However, not long after that, an upgraded CD was released that was based on a tape source rather than an analog recording, and with improved sound quality and content, it became a hot topic again and copies were immediately distributed overseas. This title was uploaded to the internet by an avid fan who fixed the noise removal and sound dropouts, and it is still fresh in my memory that it was immediately released on CD, but this time I will introduce the fan remastered version. Completely final decision board that has been reviewed and corrected by SA・RA・NI・Label! The four tracks that were reviewed and corrected were mainly Tracks 1 to 3 and Track 7. In these tracks, there were still quite a few small “petit” noises that could be seen regularly, so this was removed by manual pinpoint removal. Each item was carefully corrected. There are approximately 100 locations. This resulted in an even more perfect finish than the fan remastered version. Regarding the main part of the first CD, I don’t think there will be anything better than this in the future. An extra track is included at the end of the first CD. “Have A Cigar” (Track 8) is a US Promo Mono edited version, which is a single version released in each country at the time with the intro and final part edited, and is quite rare in Mono version (normal regular singles are stereo). Track 9 is a radio spot from when “Animals” was released, and this is an online sound source that has been uploaded to the internet in recent years. The second and third extra discs contain the 8-track cartridge versions of “Flame” and “Animals,” respectively, directly from the actual 8-track cartridges! This is the first time in history that an 8-track cartridge for “Flame” has been released on CD, and for “Animals,” only the concatenated version of “Pigs On The Wing” has been included in various titles in the past, but the entire album In fact, this is not the first time that the album has been made into a CD; a press edition was previously released by another manufacturer, and this is the second time it has been made into a CD. However, the sound quality here has improved by an order of magnitude, and it seems that this will be the first time for both albums to be recorded directly from the actual item. Due to the characteristics of the 8-track cartridge (the endless tape rotates 4 times to complete the playback), the highlight is that it has been edited in a unique (and merciless, explosive) manner that is different from regular records and CD media. But it’s also an interesting place. In “Flame”, “Shine On” and “Have A Cigar” have become victims of this, and “Shine On” Part 4 (first vocal part), Part 6 (first half of the second half), “Shine On” Part 4 (first vocal part), Just before the song “Have A Cigar” begins, it is mercilessly edited into sections, which may surprise those who hear it for the first time. At the end of the second disc, single rarities related to “Flame” are included. The 9th track “Shine On-” is from the French single, and is an excerpt of Part 1, recorded in stereo. The 10th song is from the US Promo single edition, and is a stereo mix with the intro and final part edited, and is a 3.5 minute single version that is regularly released in various countries. The 11th song is a single version with the intro unedited, and another single version with the second half faded and condensed to just over 4 minutes. The 12th track seems to be an extremely rare error disc, as there is about 7 seconds of silence in the SE part of the intro (not a skip), and there is also about 4 seconds of silence on the right channel of the stereo at around 2 minutes 45 seconds. This is a rare master version that would be unthinkable these days, such as a level down. By the way, it is unknown whether all Japanese editions are like this. Next is the 8-track cartridge for the third CD, “Animals”, and I think that “Pigs On The Wing” was recorded in a concatenated version to avoid the half-heartedly divided editing of each song ( speculation). Since these short songs were recorded together in the first half, only one song, “Dogs”, was required to be separated. By the way, the versions of each country other than the UK and the US include the regular version instead of this concatenated version, and as a result, the songs are often edited in sections. The concatenated version of “Pigs On The Wing” was officially released for the first time on CD in the Snowy White compilation released in 1995, but it was remixed there, and the concatenated version originally had acoustic guitars on the left and right. This is a separate mix, but in the beginning of the remix version, the acoustic guitar is placed in the center like in the normal release version, but at the part of Snowy White’s guitar solo, the acoustic guitar suddenly swings from side to side, Furthermore, Roger Waters’ vocals are given a deep reverb treatment throughout, giving them a slightly processed feel. In terms of speed, only the 8-track cartridge version seems to be about 2% lower. A bonus remix version is included at the end of the CD. A bonus CD is also included. A reprint of the extremely rare analog promo album “ANIMALS: SPECIAL DJ COPY” from when “ANIMALS” was released. It’s not the internet. It has been used before, but this time it is made into a CD again from the actual item in our label’s collection. This Promo version is an edited version that is very interesting for enthusiasts, as it has rough fade-outs and ins at appropriate points in the songs, probably because they were conscious of the long radio play of each song. In particular, as shown in the credits, the part (around 3:05 CD time) where the phrase “F*+k”, a term prohibited from broadcasting, is omitted in the Pigs song may be a good place to listen (?).
