Description
The 1971 French TV and radio broadcasts, plus newly unearthed treasured footage, are now available in a CD and DVD special collection with the latest remastering! The special performance held at the historic site of France, “Royellemont Abbey,” on June 15th, 1971, during the European tour after the release of Pink Floyd’s masterpiece, “Atom Heart Mother,” which debuted at number one on the UK album chart and was a huge hit around the world, is fully recorded as a CD and DVD special edition with the latest AI stereo remastering sound source and newly unearthed treasured footage. The CD includes the latest AI stereo remastering sound source, which has been converted from the original mono sound source, of the two songs “Hymne le Soleil” and “Cimbaline,” which were broadcast on the French national TV station ORTF’s program “Cinq Grand Sur La Deux” at the time. The second half of the CD includes the performance in Lyon, France on June 12th, which was held just before, recorded from the radio broadcast at the time. Although the original was a vintage mono sound source with noise and sound cuts, this rare live performance was recorded on a soundboard and has also been restored with the latest remaster. The incomplete “Atom Heart Mother” with the addition of brass and chorus is also noteworthy. The DVD also includes two songs from “Royellemont Abbey” restored with the latest AI stereo remaster, as well as unedited outtake footage newly discovered in recent years and a multi-angle edited version. The DVD includes valuable excavated footage, including unedited parts and different angles that were not used in the broadcast, so you can compare the differences between them. The bonus footage also includes the complete version of the German TV broadcast “Hamburg Moment” from the same period. This is a tour documentary, including interviews and excerpts of “Atom Heart Mother” and “Mysticism” from the Hamburg performance on February 25, 1971 and the Offenbach performance on the 26th. This is a longer TV broadcast version than the official edit. The audio and video recorded this time are live recordings from just before the legendary first visit to Japan, making this a must-have for collectors. The latest AI stereo remastered sound source for the TV broadcast version is released for the first time. New remastered sound source from the Lyon performance radio broadcast is included. The DVD includes the latest AI stereo remastered TV broadcast complete version, unedited outtake footage recently discovered, and a multi-angle edited version. The bonus video also includes the complete version of the German TV broadcast from the same period.
