Description
A compilation of British radio broadcasts from 1970 to 1971, when Pink Floyd established a solid position! The definitive edition of the best live performances, resurrected in new AI stereo. A new compilation series that chronologically traces the evolution of Pink Floyd, from Syd Barrett’s brilliant debut as a “psychedelic newcomer” in 1967 to the new lineup with David Gilmour joining in 1968, when the band established a solid position in British progressive rock in the 1970s, mainly focusing on British BBC radio and TV broadcasts. The third volume, “Transition 1970/1971,” contains studio live performances in concert format in front of an audience, accompanying the album “Atom Heart Mother” released in 1970 and the album “Meddle” released in 1971. CD1 contains the complete “BBC in Concert” from July 1970. The original broadcast sound source, which was mono at the time of broadcast and even in the official set, is recorded in a stereo version using the latest AI demix. This new master, which has been reborn with a much clearer and more three-dimensional sound due to sound separation compared to the original, has a high sound quality that surpasses the pseudo-stereo and official sound sources of the past, and is recorded with the best sound that can be said to be of a different dimension of quality from many BBC-related items so far. The live version of “Atom Heart Mother” with the addition of an orchestra and a choir is a masterpiece performance that you should listen to. CD2 contains “BBC Sound of the Seventies” recorded in September 1971. There are two versions of this program, recorded in stereo and mono at the time, but here it is recorded in the longest version that fully reproduces the speech, using a hybrid sound source that combines mono based on the stereo master. This is a complete version that also includes the stereo edit version of “Blues”, which was not recorded in mono, and the stereo edit version of “Embryo”, which has a different editing. The third volume of the latest edited sound source is the culmination of Pink Floyd’s broadcast sound sources, which established a solid position in British progressive rock in the 1970s.
