At the beginning of the European tour accompanying the “Division Bell” in 1994, the performances in Basel, Switzerland, which took place over two days on August 6th and 7th, were recorded completely with the highest level of audience recording on both days. In addition, discs 5 and 6 contain DVDs of audience shots on the first day, the 6th, from different masters. DVD Version 1 completely records the show with a large number of up-close and superb level images over 2 hours and 31 minutes. Version 2 is a video from a more distant position, but it is also completely recorded with high-quality images full of realism over a period of 2 hours and 27 minutes. The Division Bell Tour is roughly divided into two sets, one starting with Shine On You Crazy Diamond and the other starting with Astronomy Domine. The former was a hot topic for its attempt to play all the songs of “Madness” for the first time in a long time in the second part, and the latter was a set that seemed to be a highly complete best-of selection that developed from the “Utsu” tour. Both shows were performed at the Basel show over two days, and in addition to being able to see the difference in the overall flow of the two sets, Coming Back To Life on the first day only, What Do You Want From Me? On The Turning Away and Poles Apart on the second day only, are great listening spots. Both shows feature Gilmour’s guitar with a thick and sticky, stunning sound, and you can enjoy nearly five hours of the best performance in both shows. The DVD is also really great, and Version 1 in particular is recorded with such quality that it seems to be the best of the 1994 tour in terms of both camera angle and clear sound, and is definitely a must-see for fans. Version 2 is a video from a more distant position, but on the other hand, it has the advantage of being able to see the light effects of the entire stage more clearly. The sound is also recorded with very high quality. Anyway, the beautiful and stable images that can be seen in both versions are amazing, and it is the ultimate title representing the “Division Bell” tour, where CDs, DVDs and all of them can be enjoyed with different masters.
