Description
A complete collection of the 1970 San Francisco TV special performance is now available with the latest edited remastered sound and video! Pink Floyd’s special performance “An Hour with the Pink Floyd” was recorded for the San Francisco TV station KQED during their 1970 US tour. It was once recorded at KQED’s TV studio, but it was filmed without an audience at the Fillmore Auditorium (a different venue from the Fillmore West performance that took place just before) which was not used at the time, and was later edited and broadcast on TV. As a valuable performance record of a live performance of an early version of “Atom Heart Mother” which had not yet been released on an album at the time, many videos and audio sources from the TV broadcast have been released so far and later made official, and it is familiar to collectors as a classic among classics, but this time it is newly released as a complete collection of 2 CDs and DVDs with the latest original edited sound and video. CD1 contains the latest AI stereo remastered sound source of the TV broadcast version. The monaural sound source from the TV broadcast at that time was converted to real stereo using the latest AI sound source analysis. The original edited sound source, which has been reborn with a much clearer and more three-dimensional sound due to sound separation compared to the previous mono sound source, is included. All seven songs, including “Heaven’s Rule”, which was not recorded at the time, are recorded with the latest AI stereo remaster. CD2 contains the original mono master of the radio broadcast version in full. At the time, it was said that stereo simulcast broadcasting was performed on FM radio in conjunction with the TV broadcast, but in reality there was no stereo mix, and the monaural radio broadcast sound source was recorded with a restored sound source that reduced noise and restored sound distortion. Here, a short ad-lib of “Here Comes Santa”, which is not included in the TV broadcast, remains, and it is a mysterious sound source that is said to be an unedited and unbroadcast master, and in the past there was confusion with the Fillmore West performance that took place just before, but it is an interesting sound source that is the same as the performance on TV broadcast without an audience, but the sound source is different. The DVD contains the latest AI stereo remaster of the TV broadcast of “An Hour with the Pink Floyd”. The latest 2024 video version includes the complete TV broadcast version including the opening and ending, and the previously unreleased “Heavenly Rule”. The original mono soundtrack is also included as an audio option, so you can compare the differences. The bonus footage also includes “Green is the Color”, which was based on the Saint-Tropez performance at the same time as “Grantchester Meadows”, which was edited differently from the TV broadcast, as a promo video later. This is a noteworthy 2CD & DVD complete collection with the latest original edited sound source and video in 2024. The latest AI stereo remastered sound source for the TV broadcast version is now available for the first time. The original mono master of the radio broadcast version is fully recorded. The latest remastered TV broadcast complete version and the latest 2024 video version including the previously unreleased “Heaven’s Dominance” and related footage are included.
