Description
“SAPPORO 1972: DIRECT REEL MASTER” (recorded in two versions this time) is the highest quality recording of the Floyd Sapporo performance on March 13, 1972. It includes the two unreleased songs from the latter half of the show, “Echoes” and “Atom Heart Mother”, recorded in high quality audience recording from Diffmaster. “Echoes” was previously distributed under the title “The Cold Side Of The Bow” and is recorded from the version, and “Echoes” from Sapporo can only be heard in this take. This board is a remaster of the take recorded in “SAPPORO 1972”, and is characterized by a more natural tone than “The Cold Side Of The Bow”, which was recorded with a crisp and clear sound. “Atom Heart Mother” is a remastered version of the “MISSING PIECES: JAPAN TOUR 1972” take, released in 2009, a chronological compilation of very rare takes from the 1972 Japan tour that had not been available until then. To this day, no other take of “Atom Heart Mother” from Sapporo has been confirmed. The sound quality itself is inferior to that of the newly released “SAPPORO 1972: DIRECT REEL MASTER,” but both are one-and-only takes that cannot be heard on other masters. Live at Nakajima Sports Center, Sapporo, Japan 13th March 1972 (44:41) 1. Echoes 2. Atom Heart Mother
