Description
It’s the European version of Oakland! From the European tour accompanying “ANIMALS” in 1977, the performance in Frankfurt on January 27th, the fourth day of the tour, is the first master quality, unprecedented super sound quality audience recording and complete recording. It is recorded with the highest level of sound quality that is incomparable to the previous releases, and there is a significant difference in the amount of information, freshness and clarity of the sound when compared. The sound is originally good, but when it comes to the guitar solo part of the third song Dogs, where the sound of the venue gradually solidifies, it becomes almost a soundboard class sound. The pitch is accurate, and there are no cut parts except for the cheer part before the encore, so it is a highly recommended title that will surely reign as the definitive item representing the 1977 Euro tour. The opening Sheep gives a performance with a momentum that challenges you, and Gilmour’s guitar cut is also powerful. (At 7:19, he almost loses track of the beat, and Rick is also caught up in it.) At 9:28, Roger gives a powerful screaming like Eugene. (Immediately after that, he gets carried away and misses the start.) There is a PA howling at the beginning of Pigs On The Wing 1, but the next Dogs, where you can hear the dignified performance, is the best place to listen. The slow and dramatic performance on this day is definitely a masterpiece. Pigs also progresses at their best speed and with great force. The burnt dirty guitar is intense, and it’s irresistible to hear the best sound source of the European tour with such a great sound! The second part, “Flame”, is also recorded with unprecedented sound quality. The guitar solo in the first half of the SOYCD is quite different from usual, which makes it interesting to listen to. The bass is also recorded with a great sound like steel, so it’s really powerful. Welcome To The Machine, which has a strong sound like a soundboard recording, is also a truly divine and exquisite performance that keeps the tension until the end. (On the other hand, Have A Cigar has noticeable ensemble disorder and Snowy’s solo is not so good.) It is difficult to judge whether the feint play in the intro of Wish You Were Here is intentional or a mistake. Both Gilmour’s powerful vocals and Waters’ chorus in this song are the best. In SOYCD, where the slow intro gives a strong impact to the listener, you can listen to a powerful performance from start to finish, thanks to the good sound quality of the frenzied slide play that can be heard in the first half and the rhythm play of Rick and Roger in the middle. The sound quality remains the same even in the encore Money, where the dirty guitar sound stands out, and you can enjoy about two hours of performance with ultra-high sound quality comparable to modern DAT until the show end. A completely different title from the Animals Europe tour. Live at Festhalle, Frankfurt, Germany 27th January 1977 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 01. Sheep 02. Pigs On The Wing 1 03. Dogs 04.
