Description

The Sheffield performance recording of December 22, 1970, which has unparalleled value in that you can listen to the historic live performance of “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast” for nearly 30 minutes with clear sound, is now available. The much-talked-about upgraded version is now available. Some songs have been released since the LP era, and in the CD era, it first appeared on CD as a full-length album on “A PSYCHEDELIC NIGHT Part 1/2 (Triangle)”. After that, “Alan’s Psychedelic Master Tape” was released in 2001, and “Rise & Shine” (released by Harvested) was released in 2009 as an upper version of that, but in 2015, the best master of this definitive recording has finally appeared! According to information on the Internet, this recording is the RAW version of “Rise & Shine”. Although it includes intermittent cuts that seem to be on and off of the recording equipment, it is suddenly recorded about 7 seconds longer from the beginning, and it is clear from this part that this recording uses a take that is closer to the master. The hiss noise may sound louder because it is unprocessed, but the clarity, closeness, directness, and brightness of the musical tones far exceed those of previous releases. The clarity of the sound is truly amazing, and the fresh, on-tone sound will make any fan ecstatic. The scattered analog noise has been carefully removed so as not to affect the original sound. This is the best version of the Sheffield performance at the end of 1970. The highlight of the album is the opening song, “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast.” Along with “The Man & The Journey,” this is the only live documentary sound source of another Floyd version of the rock opera suite, and it contains a very clear sound of an experimental stage where performances such as baking bacon and eggs on stage were performed. The following numbers such as The Embryo and Fat Old Sun also feature performances of the height of maturity. Eugene, Careful With That Axe is a must-listen, with its eerie performance. A Saucerful Of Secrets is a 25-minute epic performance, but the power went out at the 18-minute mark, leaving only the raw sound of the drums, and the accident of nearly two minutes of interruption is recorded with a vivid sound. The last piece is Atom Heart Mother, which features brass and chorus, and John Aldiss, who also conducted the recording of the album, is the conductor for the night, and you can hear a dense performance with sustained tension. The performance is a wonderful piece that lasts for 32 minutes, and you can enjoy the emotional excitement of the band and orchestra replaying the coda after the show with the best sound ever, for 2 hours and 32 minutes.
