Description
The famous recording that represented the “British Winter Tour 1974” leading to “WISH YOU WERE HERE” has been brushed up. The longest / highest peak updated sound 3CD will be released. This work is engraved with “Manchester performance on December 9, 1974”. It is a legendary audience recording that has told the whole story. Speaking of 1974, in addition to the classic Wembley three-part series, upgrade boards such as “BRITISH WINTER TOUR 74” and “STAIRSTEP TO ABANDON: BRISTOL 1974 2ND NIGHT” have been a hot topic recently. This work is the latest bullet. First of all, let’s organize the collection while unraveling the overview of the activities at that time. “1974 FRENCH SUMMER Tour” June 18-26 (7 shows) “1974 BRITISH WINTER Tour” November 4-14 (5 shows) * November 15 “WEMBLEY 1974 2ND NIGHT” * November 16 “WEMBLEY 1974 PRE FM MASTER” * November 17 “WEMBLEY 1974 FINAL NIGHT” * November 19 “BRITISH WINTER TOUR 74 (Stoke)” November 22-December 5 (7 shows) * December 9: Manchester performance ←★ This work ★ December 10 + 13 (2 shows) * December 14 “BRISTOL 1974 2ND NIGHT” A unique show where several kinds of “1st generation” have been distributed This is PINK FLOYD in 1974. It is roughly divided into “Summer France (7 performances)” and “Winter UK (20 performances)”, but the latter, which has a large number of performances, is where the famous recordings are concentrated. The Manchester performance of this work was the 17th performance, which was the final one. This day is also a show that attracted attention since the 21st century. The trigger was the existence of a famous recording unearthed around 2000. This work is the latest version that updates the longest / highest peak of that famous recording. The source is the 1st Gene Master released from the collection of Mr. Neonknights, a famous collector familiar to FLOYD fans. Here, you may think that “1st Jane has been around for a while,” but in fact, this is a bit complicated, and there are many types of 1st generation of this recording. There seem to be some that are purely dubbed differently, but even with the same master, there are many versions with different transfers and post-processing of the sound. As a result, superiority and inferiority have been born even though the same “1st generation” is being touted depending on which one is based on. And in recent years, the best of them all is the “1st generation of the Neonknights collection” (strictly speaking, there are two types of Neonknights collection, but from here on, you have no choice but to check the actual product). Regardless of the mastering that has updated the longest/highest peak while taking advantage of the natural feeling, this work is a polishing of such a best master by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. In conclusion, the sound is ultra natural! The previously released best was also the 1st generation, but that one used a master with a strong digital processing feeling. Although it was not raised by making sound pressure unnecessarily, a strong noise reduction was applied, and the balance adjustment to hide the hiss caused digital-specific distortion in the high and silent ranges. Of course, that processing was the trend of the digital development period, but after that, the consciousness of the collector world changed to “sound that is honest to the scene” is correct. As a result, the best evaluation of the many 1st generation has changed, and this work uses a master selected for its cutting-edge “clear and natural feeling”. This work makes the most of the natural master’s flavor, but it is not untouched. As usual, the detailed mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” has been subjected to pitch/phase correction that does not allow even 1/1000th of a second of deviation, and balance adjustments and various noise treatments have also been performed based on band analysis. This time, the most powerful effect is the removal of hum noise. The noise that was particularly noticeable in “Echoes” has been beautifully removed, and it has been applied with a sense of balance that does not affect the performance sound. This noiseless beauty has not been realized in any of the previous releases. Furthermore, (although a bit plain) this work is also the longest in history. First of all, the original source itself was recorded about 10 seconds longer than the previous board “Sigma151”. And after the end of “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” (the set change part from the first part to the second part), it was patched with a separate recording. This is also about a few seconds, but we were particular about the extreme upgrade that was made by thoroughly investigating all sources / masters. Although it was thought that all of them were the same, the “1st Gen” actually had a big difference. This is the highest peak update board that polished the “true best master” found by thorough research with the utmost precision. A sound world that has been reached after half a century since the tour site and a quarter century since the sound source was excavated. The 1974 Manchester performance decision board! The last edition is a transfer by Mr. NB, which is different from the previous edition, and the 1st Gen version supervised by Mr. Neonknights is the latest remaster. The previous edition had a tingling texture that seemed to have been further raised after noise reduction, perhaps to hide the hiss, but this edition is recorded with a natural sound that is unrelated to the digital texture. Furthermore, since it still had a tingling texture, you can enjoy the first natural and analog-like texture. The difference from the past edition can be immediately seen by listening to the beginning of Disc 2 and Disc 3 of the past editions. Another feature of the past albums was that Echoes had a chronic condition of having a large hum noise, but this album has the great advantage of being able to listen to the album with a natural texture that is almost unnoticeable for the first time. As for the contents of the recording, the intro before the start of the live performance is about 28 seconds longer than the previous album, but the first appearance part is just over 10 seconds. Also, there are two types of sound sources on this day, and the second sound source has many cuts and is inferior in sound quality, but this time, the cheers after the performance of “Shine On-” are about 5 seconds, but the second sound source compensates for it, making it the longest recording ever! The legendary audience recording of the “Manchester performance on December 9, 1974”. This is the highest peak update album, which uses the “Neonknights” collection, which is the longest and most natural of the many 1st generation masters, and is mastered by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. Despite not having the processed feel of the previous version, the inevitable hum noise has been neatly removed to create an unprecedented sound world, and the longest length has been updated by supplementing it with another recording. This is a 3-disc set that will truly become a cultural heritage. The Palace Theatre, Manchester, UK 9th December 1974 TRULY PERFECT SOUND UPGRADE & LONGER Disc 1 (54:35) 1. Introduction 2.
