Description
A compilation of British radio and TV broadcasts from 1967 when Syd Barrett was still in the band to 1968! Newly edited AI stereo and original mono complete recording definitive edition. A newly edited compilation series that chronologically traces the evolution of Pink Floyd, from their brilliant debut in 1967 when Syd Barrett was still in the band to their firm position in British progressive rock in the 1970s with the addition of David Gilmour in 1968, focusing on British BBC radio and TV broadcasts. The first volume, titled “Dawn 1967∥1968,” covers the period from their debut in 1967 when Syd Barrett was still in the band to 1968. CD1 contains the “AI Stereo New Master,” a stereo version of the broadcast sound source that was mono in the 1960s, using the latest AI demix. This new master, which has been reborn with a much clearer and more three-dimensional sound due to the separation of the sound compared to the original, has a high sound quality that surpasses the pseudo-stereo and official sound sources of the past, and is of a different dimension to the many BBC-related items so far. In addition, the “voice-over” where the DJ voice overlaps with the performance during broadcast has been removed, and it is recorded in a stereo version of only the performance that has never been recorded before. In terms of content, it starts with the UFO club sound source on Granada TV, which was broadcast before the BBC as a British TV broadcast, and the sound source on BBC radio and TV broadcasts are recorded in chronological order. All interesting sound sources, such as performance arrangements unique to studio live and unreleased songs, are recorded with the best sound. The bonus track “Starry Sky Drive” (early studio demo) is also recorded in the latest edited AI stereo version. CD2 contains the original broadcast mono sound source as “Original Mono Masters”. This is the original sound source with the DJ sound reproduced as it is, but it is an upgraded sound source that exceeds the BBC sound source recorded in the official box due to recent new excavations and new editing by a different master with improved sound quality. It is recorded in chronological order like CD1, but precious newly excavated sound sources at the UFO club and other sound sources have been added as bonuses. The first collection of the latest edited sound sources, which is the culmination of the broadcast sound sources of the early Pink Floyd, where the strong personality of the now legendary original member genius Syd Barrett exploded.
