“The September 22, 1972 Hollywood Bowl performance has had a “Crackers” sound source called “Recorder 1” (the original master has not yet appeared) and “Recorder 2” recorded by Rob Bertrand in the past, but this board contains the original version of “Recorder 2” which has appeared in recent years and has become a hot topic among enthusiasts. The authenticity of the master version can be confirmed by the fact that it is recorded about one second longer at the beginning of each disc (Breathe and One Of These Days), but above all, the big advantage of this take is that it is recorded with a natural sound without a sense of equalization compared to the previous releases. “Recorder 2” was originally the highest quality sound of the 1972 audience recording take, and in the 1990s, a poor-sounding take of the same source, which seemed to have passed through a generation, was released by the Great Dane label under the title “Staying Home To Watch The Rain”.
