TMOQ’s 2LP “LIVE (Dittolino Disc),” a classic bootleg release from the early 1970s, has been released directly on CD in master quality. This bootleg is a classic vinyl bootleg recording of the Santa Monica concert on October 23rd during the 1970 US tour, recorded with astonishing sound for its time. This mint-condition vinyl, now highly sought-after, has been meticulously digitized using state-of-the-art equipment for this release. While the CD faithfully reproduces the original release, and while the track order is far from a complete live performance, it does include most of the main performances, including the orchestral version of “Atom Heart Mother.” The string and mixed choir sections in “Atom Heart Mother” are particularly well-reproduced, delivering a rich, dense soundscape. Furthermore, the door opening and closing and the sound of heeled footsteps during “Cymbaline” are realistically reproduced, and the ethereal soundscapes in the first half of the following “Mystery” are truly spine-tingling. By the way, the momentary skip in this song is due to deterioration of the master tape, but please note that this has not been corrected and the vivid sound of the original has been recorded as is.
