Description
A new discovery of a sound source that no one has ever heard for over 55 years! It is now available on the highest version CD. The “San Diego performance on October 18, 1970” is permanently preserved in this work. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of 1970, it was the year of the great masterpiece “Atom Heart Mother” that showed the way of progressive rock. Our shop has archived as many masterpieces as possible from the era when each performance evolved vigorously. First of all, let’s approach the position of this work while also organizing the collection.・January 10th – February 28th: Europe #1 (18 shows) ←※LIVE AT LEEDS, etc. {March 1st: Production of “Atom Heart Mother” begins}・March 5th – 30th: Europe #2 (15 shows) ←※NUREMBERG 1970, etc.・April 9th – May 16th: North America #1 (17 shows) ←※FILLMORE WEST 1970, etc. {Tour interrupted due to equipment theft}・June 27th – July 26th: Europe #3 (7 shows) ←※HYDE PARK 1970, etc. {July 26th: Recording of “Atom Heart Mother” finished}・August 8th – September 12th: Europe #4 (4 shows)・September 26th – October 25th: North America #2 (20 shows) ←★Here★・November 6th – December 22nd: Europe #5 (21 shows) ←※HANOVER 1970, etc. This is PINK FLOYD in 1970. “Atom Heart Mother” was released during “North America #2”, and this work’s San Diego performance was also one of those acts. Now, let’s focus on the schedule further. Details of “North America #2” * September 26th “ELECTRIC FACTORY 1970” * September 27th “FILLMORE EAST 1970 (Early Show)” ・ September 27th-October 2nd (3 performances) {“Atom Heart Mother” released on October 2nd} ・ October 3rd-15th (9 performances) * October 16th “PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL” ・ October 17th: San Rafael performance * October 18th: San Diego performance ←★This work★ ・ October 21st: San Francisco performance * October 23rd “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970” ・ October 25th: Boston performance A completely first-time recording that appeared in 2025 This is the fifth record, and is the masterpiece “PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL” and “SANTA MONICA It was a concert exactly in the middle of “OCTOBER 1970: REVISITED”. The San Diego performance was also a hidden place where no recordings had been known until now. However, in the spring of 2025, it was suddenly newly excavated. It was not traded or released online, but it saw the light of day as the overseas-made LP “A PSYCHEDELIC BREAKFAST”, limited to 300 copies. This work was directly transferred from such a shocking LP. Moreover, it is a highest peak update board polished by meticulous mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. And what is truly shocking is the sound. It is not enough to update the tour No. 1, but the thick core roars without a sense of distance when on, and the details are clear even in the fine parts. What’s more, it’s wonderful that it is a stereo recording. It’s a great thing that they recorded it in stereo in the 1970s, but the quality is also high. You can immerse yourself in the psychedelic sound world with a beautiful spread, and the sense of separation is also wonderful. Each of the fine picking and subtle ornaments is beautifully preserved, and even when they overlap, they do not mix. The highest peak edition that has been significantly upgraded from the original LP sound Moreover, this work is also the highest peak update that has raised such a first appearance sound source. First of all, the composition. The LP “A PSYCHEDELIC BREAKFAST” had the song order changed quite forcibly in order to fit it into a two-disc analog set. In this work, the flow has been corrected to the same as the live performance on the day. Here, let’s restore the expected set on the day. Setlist for the day [A1] Astronomy Domine (x) Fat Old Sun (not on the album) (x) Cymbaline (not on the album) (x) Atom Heart Mother (not on the album) (x) Embryo (not on the album) [C1] Green Is The Colour [C2] Careful With That Axe, Eugene [A2] Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun [D] A Saucerful of Secrets [B] Interstellar Overdrive (encore) *Note: The numbers in [ ] are the recording sides of the original LP. This recording is not the full version, with four songs missing from the middle. In fact, on this day, “Alan’s Psychedelic It has been said as an urban legend that “Breakfast” was played on this album (this is also the origin of the LP title), but this was not included. The sound throughout the album has also been upgraded. Of course, the needle pops and hum noises that are unique to LPs have been thoroughly treated, but that’s not all. First of all, the sound image is completely different from the first listen. As those who have experienced the original LP may know, the tape on this recording has deteriorated slightly, and the bass was spoiled. This work fully repairs these shortcomings. The close-up recording, which is also listed in the schedule above, The sound output on the day was reproduced as much as possible, based on the recording. It is reborn as something completely different. In fact, the original sound can be heard on Youtube, but please be careful not to underestimate the thin sound. You will wonder, “Is it really the same recording!?” What’s even more amazing is the pitch. The original LP was unstable and changed randomly (it was not warped due to digitization, but was recorded with the LP itself warped), but this has been corrected with obsessive precision. This is also an incredible improvement for those who have experienced the original sound, and it has been improved to the point where there is almost no discomfort when listening. “GRAF ZEPPELIN’s mastering is characterized by an extraordinary amount of work and precision, but this upgrade is a testament to that. 55 years since the show. Who would have thought we’d encounter a completely new sound source that no one knew about? This is a remastered version of the 2-LP “A Psychedelic Breakfast,” which is said to have been suddenly released around April 2025. It contains the first performance at the University of California in San Diego on October 18, 1971. Judging from the texture of the sound and the sound of dogs barking, it seems to have been an outdoor performance. The sound quality is very good stereo Aud, and although there is some hissing close by, it’s not that noticeable. As mentioned above, it’s an analog record, but if you listen to it normally, you wouldn’t think it’s an analog record. However, recently, there are cases where a first-time sound source is released on an analog record like this one. Unfortunately, not all songs are included, and Fat Old Sun, Cymbaline, and Embryo seem to be missing. The title of the LP is “A Psychedelic Breakfast” because it is a reference to “Alan’s Psychedelic The title seems to be based on the urban legend (?) that “Breakfast” was performed, but the truth is unknown. The pitch of the original sound source, which was sloppy and floppy, has been corrected as much as possible. It is almost natural. Hum noise has been removed. It is modest, but the effect is sufficient in quiet parts and between songs. The best audience recording of the “San Diego performance on October 18, 1970”. The complete first recording released in 2025. The source overseas LP “A PSYCHEDELIC BREAKFAST” had different songs and was sloppy, but this work is the highest peak update board polished by meticulous mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. It has been upgraded to a completely different class, and it is a must-listen board that allows you to experience the joy of listening to a live performance for the first time with the highest quality.
