Description
Along with Oakland and Boston, this is the representative sound source of the 1977 Animals Tour and the final performance of the tour, and is the ultimate fan-made source that mixes the six existing performances of the Montreal, Olympic Stadium performance on July 6, Canada. There are two masters for this day’s sound source, and since it is a famous performance, many items have been released from it, but this board combines the representative titles “The Last Animalized”, “Azimuth Coordinator”, and “Fire Works Show In The Canadian Walls” using “Recorder 1”, and “Who Was Trained Not To Spit On The Fan”, “Montreal 1977”, and “Roar Ends” using “Recorder 2”. The pitch of each is slightly different, but for this take, the overall pitch and time seem to be adjusted based on Harvested’s “Who Was Trained Not To Spit On The Fan”. No noise reduction or equalization was used at all, and the sound image, which exquisitely combines the sound characteristics of the six masters, is a wonderful workmanship that does not feel artificially mixed. The natural sound and the strength of the bottom are overwhelming, recreating this historic show with an ideal texture that is “not too light, not too heavy” and “natural texture that does not pierce the ears”. This day was the last day of the “In The Flesh” tour. All the members seemed to be at the peak of their irritation from the long road, and Roger’s hysterical mood in particular seemed to add tension to the performance. Roger seems to be feeling high, and the part where he shouts “19-61!” in the third verse of Pigs is very powerful on this day. This concert is also known as the one where Roger spat on the audience from the stage, but in Pigs On The Wing 2, he was furious when fireworks from the audience interrupted his song, and in the latter half of SOYCD, he burst out laughing. As a band, you can hear the performances of both parts, the first part “Animals” and the second part “Fire”, and even in the middle part of Money, Gilmour gives us a tense performance. However, before the last encore song, Blues, Gilmour left the stage early saying “I’m not doing it anymore” and watched Snowy White and the three of them play endlessly. The dull performance was met with intense booing and heckling from the audience, but Roger seemed to enjoy it. This is the original mix version of the historic performance in that sense, where Roger spat on the fans, which is said to have led to the idea of building a wall between the stage and the audience.
