Description
A famous recording that has been loved by improvisations known as “Corrosion” has been upgraded. The best master, the highest peak update edition, finished by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”, is now available on 2CD. This work is recorded on the “November 27, 1970 Hanover performance”. It is a legendary audience recording that has told the whole story. Some collectors may be wondering, “Huh? Wasn’t Corrosion in Hamburg?” In fact, that is also a major point of this work. In order to explain the meaning, let’s start with an overview of the activities at that time.・January 10th – February 28th: Europe #1 (18 shows) ←※LIVE AT LEEDS, etc. {March 1st: Production of “Atom Heart Mother” begins}・March 5th – 30th: Europe #2 (15 shows) ←※NUREMBERG 1970, etc.・April 9th - May 16th: North America #1 (17 shows) ←※FILLMORE WEST 1970, etc. {Tour interrupted due to equipment theft}・June 27th – July 26th: Europe #3 (7 shows) ←※HYDE PARK 1970 {July 26th: Recording of “Atom Heart Mother” finished}・August 8th – September 12th: Europe #4 (4 shows)・September 26th – October 25th: North America #2 (20 shows) ←※PEPPERLAND 1970, etc.・November 6th – December 22nd: Europe #5 (21 shows) ←★Here★ This is PINK FLOYD in 1970. Both the Hanover performance and the Hamburg performance in question were “Europe #5” which took place after the release of “Atom Heart Mother”. Let’s focus on the schedule further. Details of “Europe #5” ・November 6th: Amsterdam performance *November 7th “ROTTERDAM 1970: 4TH GEN” *November 11th “GOTHENBURG 1970” *November 12th “COPENHAGEN 1970” ・November 14th: Hamburg performance *November 21st “MONTREUX 1970 DAY 1” etc. *November 22nd “TOO EARLY FOR A GIG” etc. *November 25th “ATOMIC ENSEMBLE” *November 26th “KILLESBERG HALLE 1970” *November 27th: Hannover performance ←★Here★ *November 28th “PICTURES OF PINK FLOYD” *November 29th “MUNICH 1970” ・December 3rd-21st (6 performances) *December 22nd “SHEFFIELD 1970 REVISITED” … and so on. Now, going back to the beginning, the famous recording known as “Corrosion” was said to be a Hamburg performance, and it has been familiar to us as the press masterpiece “CORROSION: HAMBURG 1970 (Sirene-235)”. However, that information has now been updated. In fact, the “second Hannover recording” and the “true Hamburg recording” have been unearthed, and it has become clear that “traditional recording = actually Hannover”. And this work is the highest peak update of such traditional recordings. The recording itself is the same as the conventional Sirene-board “CORROSION”, but it uses the “Stratcat58 cassette master” released by core collector Neonknight, and is further polished by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” from scratch. In fact, the sound is the best ever. Although the specific gene of both the conventional master (transfer called “T136”) and the “Stratcat58” master is unknown, the accuracy of the sound has improved significantly. Moreover, it is natural. The conventional “T136” master had a dark sound due to noise reduction (poor by modern standards). Furthermore, despite being a mono recording, the localization was shifted to the right (the same sound was recorded on the left and right channels of the reel, but the localization was out of sync because the phase was out of sync), and the pitch was 2% faster. However, the “Stratcat58” master has almost no such problems. Of course, strictly speaking, there was some deviation, but it was thoroughly (obsessively) corrected by the detailed mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. The legendary show, which is also a legend of “Corrosion”, is depicted with such a top-of-the-line updated sound. Rather than a meticulously composed unreleased song, it is an improvisation spelled out with the sensibility of the spot, which is rich. Basically, it is an improvisation reminiscent of the middle part of “Starry Sky Drive”, but at the end, Roger’s scream like an aji speech roars, reminiscent of “the mysterious song of a hairy animal”. It is a live performance unique to 1970, when psychedelic rock was evolving into progressive rock while experiencing various experiments. The true venue was revealed through research over half a century ago in Hanover recording. This work is a press 2CD that permanently preserves its true form. It is not just the “venue and date” that has been revealed, but also the supreme board that approaches the “on-site sound” by making full use of 2024 know-how in terms of sound. The legendary audience recording of the “Hanover performance on November 27, 1970”. This is a traditional recording that has been misunderstood as “Hamburg on November 14th”, and is the highest peak update board polished by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” by core collector Neonknight’s best master. It is fresher than the conventional master, and the phase and pitch deviations are thoroughly corrected. You can also experience the historical improvisation “Corrosion” in its correct form. The sound itself was once considered to be the Hamburg performance on November 14th. In recent years (2012?), several tracks from the real Hamburg performance and the November 27th Hanover performance were unearthed at the same time, and the recording that was once said to be from the November 14th Hamburg performance was found to be from the November 27th Hanover performance (a different recording from the unearthed recording). This means that there are two recordings of the Hanover performance. When this live performance was first released in the 1970s, it seems that information about “Germany 1970” was circulating, and it eventually spread as the November 14th Hamburg performance. By the way, in the late 1980s, only CORROSION and Embryo were included on the analog LP “LOST IN THE CORRIDORS”. There, the jacket was credited as HANOVER in July 1970. Due to recording time, Corrosion and the medley Embryo were moved to Disc 2, and there is no bonus recording. Disc 2 is full of recordings. By the way, the already released Sirene includes Embryo on the first CD, but this is because some parts such as Embryo have a 2% faster pitch. [Organization] November 14th, Hamburg… Only a few songs have been unearthed in recent years. This has revealed that the recordings previously thought to be from Hamburg are from a different live performance. November 27th, Hanover… Rec1: A 130-minute mono AUD previously thought to be from Hamburg on November 14th. November 27th, Hanover… Rec2: Only a few songs have been unearthed in recent years. The performance was the same as the live performance (Rec1) that was once said to be in Hamburg on StereoAud. Niedersachsenhalle, Hanover, Germany 27th November 1970 PERFECT SOUND UPGRADE Disc 1 (52:17) 1. Astronomy Domine 2. Fat Old Sun 3. Cymbaline 4. Atom Heart Mother Disc 2 (79:01) 1. Tuning 2. Corrosion Commonly known as Corrsion. The performance is like the middle part of the live performance of “Starry Sky Drive” or “MOONHEAD”, and Roger’s speech-like shout at the end is reminiscent of “Several Species Of Small Funny Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict” from the album “UMMAGUMMA”. What’s more, it is very interesting that Roger’s MC (narration) is strangely speech-like in several places during the live performance. 3. The Embryo The strange narration part of Roger before the performance, which was cut from the previous release, is also included uncut. 4. Green Is The Colour 5. Careful With That Axe, Eugene 6. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun 7. A Saucerful Of Secrets
