Description
CALIFORNIA SOUNDBOARD: Revised Edition will be the first and longest CD release of the 75 San Diego Soundboard, which is filled with mania, but since the soundboard part was the main feature, only the encore “Echoes” is San Diego’s take. The fact is that it is not. If the sound board is a strong take on Denver or Tucson that was done before San Diego, it is natural for enthusiasts to be interested in the genuine San Diego “Echoes”. Unfortunately, the soundboard of this song has not been excavated, but on the other hand, audience recordings do exist. Rather, the San Diego performance itself was released in 2009 as “SAN DIEGO 1975”. However, the first half of the “CALIFORNIA SOUNDBOARD: Revised Edition” live performance used a new version called First Generation, which was released by Neonknight in 2013. As you can see from the information “First Generation”, the cassette is copied directly from the master cassette, so it has a distinctly upper-class feel compared to “SAN DIEGO 1975”. First of all, the sound quality itself is clearly clear, and the freshness is clearly felt. When faced with this version, “SAN DIEGO 1975”, which uses the sound source that was circulating in 2009, sounds dark and lacks sharpness. Of course, “Eclipse” is not included this time, but even more regrettable is that during the intro of “Echoes”, sounds unrelated to the performance, such as overwriting, were mixed in. However, even if you deduct that, the sound quality of this version is clearly better. Moreover, at the beginning of this song, there is no trouble from Gilmore as heard in the sound board take, and it starts smoothly. On the contrary, it is interesting because it even sounds like it was played surprisingly carefully in 1975’s “Echoes”. If you listen to this, you will be able to feel that the sound board take of “Echoes” is “I see, the performance is different”, and it is not only an upgrade in sound quality but also has high documentary value. In addition, the tremendous excitement for the “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON” part, which had already become a standard in America as of 1975, is transmitted more than the sound board. This is an upgraded version that you should have in your first delivery! Live at Sports Arena, San Diego, CA, USA 21st April 1975 PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (62:12) 1. Introduction 2.
