Description

The live tour, which was named “The Wall Performed Live” and was held in four cities around the world, started in February 1980 with five performances at the sports arena in Los Angeles, but the title was taken from the LA performance at the beginning of the tour. The final performance in LA on February 13th on the 5th day is completely recorded with the highest level of ultra-high quality audience recording. This performance is the first appearance on a live CD. A version with a bad generation of the same sound source was circulating among traders, but this edition contains the master tape version that suddenly appeared in recent years. The difference in sound quality is obvious, and you can enjoy the entire show with top-class sound quality that is extremely fresh and stable, even if it is described as ultra-clear. The Wall live started on February 7th, and the performance itself has gotten better and better each day, and even on this day, compared to the performance in the latter half of the tour, there were some sweet parts in the texture and solos. On the contrary, this is the charm of this period, and you can see surprisingly fresh performances in various places. In the first place, a decent high-quality version of the wall performance in LA has never been released in the past, so this version will be positioned as a very important piece in the sense of representing the early stage of the tour. It can be said that this is still a period of handcrafted and fumbling performances, and the overall performance of both vocals and instruments, as well as the texture of the sound itself, are completely different from the highly complete (in a sense uniform) performances of the later stages of the tour. You can enjoy wall live with a very fresh feeling and feel. And above all, the sound quality is extremely good, so fans can enjoy this valuable document even more than a normal wall live. Gilmour’s solo, represented by Another Brick In The Wall Part 2, is completely different from the standard melodies that followed, and the “Are you ready” that follows Roger’s “Are you ready to get down boogie!” at the beginning of Young Lust. for Gilmour!?” I was surprised by the direct incitement. I’m impressed by Roger’s rock singing in One Of My Turns, and in the middle of the 3 minute range, you can hear the part where the band (Rick?) momentarily misses the composition and rebuilds it with Nick’s signal. There is also a mistake in the texture at the 49th second of Another Brick In The Wall Part 3, which surprises me when I listen to it. Since the arrangement of The Last Few Bricks from this period was not finalized, it has a unique charm as an instrumental number, and it is the only one in the whole that has a performance reminiscent of the 70’s such as the “crazy” Any Color You Like. You can listen. Comfortably Numb’s long guitar solo with a rock-like mood, which uses a lot of ad-libs, is also a highlight. The MC before In The Flesh is short, and like the intro, a woman is in charge. Roger’s agitation before Run Like Hell is also impressive, and on this day he sings “Let’s hear it for all the paranoids in the audience, of which I’m sure there are many…called “RUN LIKE FUCK!” Home Piggy Home!”, making the audience excited. Roger’s MC after the 7-minute performance was also in high spirits. However, Waiting For The Worms didn’t fit well in the chorus, and the tempo didn’t match, so they performed poorly. The last song, The Trial, is a wonderful document that shows how the audience, who had no prior knowledge of the show, was holding their breath as they watched the spectacular rock opera. This part is a must-listen! The sound of the wall collapsing at the end is also recorded with powerful sound. The ending, where cheers gradually swell from the stunned audience, is moving. Outside The Wall After the performance, the part where Roger does the MC of thanks to the endless cheers is also moving. It has been announced that Roger will be conducting a world tour of “The Wall Live” on a larger scale than in North America to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of “The Wall” starting in December 2010, and it has become a hot topic in various places. However, this work is definitely a must-listen for fans, as it allows you to enjoy the earliest performances of “The Wall”, which continues to fascinate many fans through the ages, in the highest sound quality.
