Description

After the death of Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, Phil Anselmo showed a glimpse of his determination to become the storyteller of PANTERA. Introducing the best original video where you can experience the latest stage that brought PANTERA numbers to Japan for the first time in 19 years. This work was recorded at the “January 30, 2020: Umeda CLUB QUATTRO” performance. This is the best footage. The tour was originally scheduled to come to Japan in April 2019, but was postponed due to poor health of the members. Furthermore, Phil’s own controversial remarks caused controversy, but he was able to come to Japan with “EXTREME THE DOJO” without incident. This time there were a total of three performances, one in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, and the Osaka performance of this work will be on the last day. Also, this work is a set of a live album and video, but its composition is a little different. Let’s keep it simple here. The show is completely divided into the second half, and the first half is a set of “WALK THROUGH EXITS ONLY” and “CHOOSING MENTAL ILLNESS AS A VIRTUE” produced with the current THE ILLEGALS. And, in the second half, only PANTERA numbers are featured. You can witness such a PANTERA set from the special seats. Anyway, this is the ultimate in spectacular scenery. This is also an original master that was directly given to me by the photographer, but I was in the front row of the second floor seats, passing directly over the heads of the first floor seats with no obstructions and looking directly at the stage. What’s more, the sense of stability is excellent, and the zooming ability to get closer to the highlight is extremely accurate. If it wasn’t provided by the photographer himself, it’s such a spectacular view that you’d think it was a staff shot setting up the venue. What makes the images even better is the audio. The CD master is synchronized, raising the quality to the ultimate level of superb scenery and superb sound. And because it’s a video, Phil’s unchanging charismatic appearance is vivid. Its majestic performance is unique. Although he doesn’t go wild in a flashy way, the way he points at the audience, the timing when he nods with satisfaction, and the expression on his face when he lets out a roar… each one of them brings back the PANTERA era, and there is no doubt that he is none other than “that Anselmo.” It’s full of emotion. It was the dark 90’s when METALLICA shouted, “Let’s change our name to Rocktalica,” and made Rob Halford, the god of steel, say, “Metal is dead.” In the midst of all this, SLAYER and PANTERA were the only ones who roared, “We’re metal. Are there any complaints?” I think there are pros and cons to Phil singing PANTERA’s songs, but now that Vinnie and Dimebag are gone, if he doesn’t sing, no one will be able to take over. An onslaught of famous songs revived in 2020. Live at Umeda Club Quattro, Osaka, Japan 30th January 2020 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) (57:05) 1. MC Intro 2.
