Peter Hammill’s performance in Japan in October 2017 was also amazing, and from his 2018 UK tour the following year, his London performance on April 20th was recorded in a clear digital audience recording. First of all, the show was in three parts, with the first and third parts on piano and the second part on guitar, each in the style of Peter playing acoustic guitar alone. And just after the performance in Japan, he released his first album in three years, “FROM THE TREES”. This solo tour, which began in March 2018, features a set of songs from albums that represent his entire career, with “Refugees” and “La Rossa” selected from VDGG, and a wide range of solo songs from the 70s to his latest works. Moreover, the only two songs performed from the same album were “Torpor” and “The Descent” from “FROM THE TREES,” and “The Lie (Bernini’s Saint Theresa)” and “Modern” from “THE SILENT CORNER AND THE EMPTY STAGE.” The rest of the songs were selected from a wide range of works, making it a must-see for long-time and avid fans.
