Description
This 1 hour 25 minute recording of the late show at the Roxy in Hollywood on April 9th, the first solo live performance accompanying the release of his first solo album in 1977, which was also a hot topic due to the fact that Robert Fripp accompanied him, was taken from the master audience tapes owned by the legendary taper Mike Millard, which were recently unearthed for the first time. First of all, this is the original master of the Millard tapes, which have been released one after another in recent years, and this sound source released on the web this time is also the world premiere. The sound quality is top class even among the Millard masters, with a closer distance and closer feeling than usual because of the club-sized capacity. And since he only released one album, his repertoire was limited, so in addition to all the songs from the album, “Here Comes The Flood” and “Modern Love” are played twice, and there are also “On The Ai” and “A Song Without Words (Indigo)” from his next album, as well as a cover of Marvin Gaye, making this a set unique to his early solo days. The performance is powerful, with the inclusion of Fripp’s guitar in the ensemble, and the album allows you to experience his combination with Gabriel and the atmosphere of a club gig at the time.
