Description

A super classic video “JAMES PAUL McCARTNEY” that captures the early Wings. Since it was originally a TV show, it was made into vinyl many times during the record era, and from the 1990s, video and DVD upgrades became a hot topic. Among them, “LIGHTSPEED” released 15 years ago by LIGHTHOUSE contains this video in a quality suitable for the DVD era, and it has become so popular that it has been uploaded in its entirety on YouTube as a definitive and standard item. It was. In 2018, it was finally made into an official DVD as part of the super deluxe edition of the album “RED ROSE SPEEDWAY.” It seemed like all the items from the past had been buried. However, when you open the lid, only the “Bluebird” scene from the Paul singing corner is cut out. This disappointing editing alone is enough to get a watermark, but what was even more serious were the afterimages that appeared everywhere. This happens due to the frame rate value when converting video footage to DVD, and normally it should be 60fps, but the Super Deluxe Edition’s “JAMES PAUL McCARTNEY” (hereinafter referred to as “JPM”) ) was released on DVD at 30fps, so this phenomenon occurred. Excuse me, but I don’t really understand the technical aspects of DVDs…I’m sure there are quite a few people like that, so I’ll simply say that the vintage video footage was not converted to DVD in an appropriate condition. After all, since it was a long-awaited release, enthusiasts all over the world immediately noticed the strangeness that was occurring. Therefore, the PAL version video master owned by Lord Reith, a hero of the Beatle mania world, was released on the internet. It is true that this one does not have the afterimage feeling like the Super Deluxe Edition version, and yet it is wonderful in that it cleanly erases the time code that was supposed to be on the screen. Time code erasing technology has been a favorite method among enthusiasts for about 10 years, but technology has evolved in that time, and the natural erasing here is truly amazing. You can barely see the erased traces around the end of “Live And Let Die” and the explosion. The rest has disappeared really neatly, and together with the problem of afterimages mentioned above, it has become possible to view the image without stress. What’s more, “Hi, Hi, Hi”, which was only broadcast on JPM’s UK version, is also included. However, the image quality is slightly lower than that of the main video, but the image quality is still much clearer than previous versions, such as the version seen in the “LIGHTSPEED” bonus. As expected. However, even Lord Reith had a big drawback that “Bluebird” was not included in the Paul singing scene. Therefore, for this release, this scene was patched from the “LIGHTSPEED” version. This is a surprisingly natural and clean adjustment, and at first glance you wouldn’t notice that the source had changed. The problem of the afterimage phenomenon can be easily understood by comparing it with the piano song corner from “Little Woman Love” or the live scene at the end of the program. The difference is especially obvious around “C Moon” in the piano song corner. In the Super Deluxe Edition, there was a swaying afterimage, but this version has been suppressed much more and is easier to see. This is the state of the original video. Furthermore, the second disc contains the Japan Broadcasting version of JPM that was broadcast as part of the “World’s One Man Show”. In the early 1970s, the U-Matic video tape, a home color video deck that only the rich could own at the time, was released more than 10 years ago, and contains footage that surprised enthusiasts around the world. Later, an upgraded package was released, but this time, the video has been remastered and the audio has been replaced, allowing you to enjoy clear sound quality comparable to the overseas broadcast version. After all, the impact of the original editing, with subtitles that are highly paraphrased throughout, and bold cuts from the singing corner and the scene where he returns home to Liverpool, has not faded. The Nippon Broadcasting System version, which is full of the Showa era, is truly delicious. And recently, it has been revealed that the JPM announcement after the performance of “Big Barn Bed” is a different take from the overseas version (the Japanese version has a slightly softer tone), making it extremely valuable not only to Japan but also to enthusiasts around the world. A literal JPM Definitive Edition that even includes an alternate version! Extended Version / Japanese Broadcast Version (Huge Upgrade!!!!) Disc 1(55:03) Extended Version 1. Introduction 2.
