As Paul ages, he continues to be active as if he has reached the end of his career. In addition to touring every year, he is also re-releasing his past albums with unreleased audio and footage. Regarding the Wings era in particular, the 1976 world tour period tends to attract attention because of the abundance of material, but the Wings before that have tended to be neglected due to the lack of materials and materials. The 1970s was a turning point in which rock entered a new realm, with artists such as Floyd and Zeppelin performing avant-garde performances that made full use of stage visual effects and improvisation. It must have been a big change in the times for Paul, who had previously performed about 10 short songs and 30-minute stages during his time with the Beatles. It is true that the band is made up of unknown musicians, and the keyboard players are amateurs with no prior musical experience. As the curtain rose smoothly on stage with the host’s announcement, you could feel that even Paul was not able to keep up with the trends of the times. Blues, which had an influence on the rock world from the late 1960s, was the basis of each musical style, but within a short period of time, audience tastes shifted to hard rock. It was probably because of such changes in fashion that Wings finally caught up with the times after the guitarist changed from Henry to Jimmy. As if left behind by such changes in the times, Wings’ stage performance in 1972 had a strong blues flavor. I think that’s the kind of feeling that was the appeal of early Wings. The tour took place in two parts, in July and August 1972. This is partly due to the small number of sound sources that remain, as well as the scarcity of tour records and articles from the time, but it is still possible to make some inferences from the few sound sources that remain.
