Description
Speaking of the European tour that Wings conducted after the Over America tour, “VIENNA 1976” was released and continues to be nominated as “this is the sound that enthusiasts wanted to hear”, but here are two videos of Wings at their peak. To commemorate the release, we will generously release more 76 European rare sound sources. That is the Venice performance this time. Since it is the most listenable quality of the 76 European audience recordings made from September to October, it is also a sound source that has been released many times until now. However, most of them have some kind of problem, such as the pitch being out of order, or the cassette copy having an undeniable sense of inferior generation. In particular, this sound source has never been released at the correct pitch. Therefore, for this release, it has been remastered based on the version that is circulating on the internet with the initials “WT”. Unfortunately, the “WT” series is often equalized by maniacs when it is uploaded, and in particular, the 1976 sound source tends to be completely equalized. In that respect, there are many sound sources from Wings 1975 that have escaped equalization, and the popular limited press CD “BIRMINGHAM 1975” was created based on the Birmingham sound source of the “WT” series. In that respect, Venice has a feeling of equalization as expected, and that is why the “bell sound equalization” that was common in boots about 15 years ago explodes at the beginning, and I was unable to correct this part, as expected, Fortunately, that feeling only occurs at the beginning. The remaining parts are now much easier to hear thanks to the equalization that corrects the sound quality. Furthermore, by accurately adjusting the pitch, we have achieved a sense of stability that is incomparable to the Venice items released in the past. In any case, this sound source is certainly the best of the 76 European sound sources in that the sound image is captured closely, but the flaw is that the surrounding audience periodically becomes noisy, reflecting the country’s passionate character. . In particular, the commotion that occurs during “Let Me Roll It” is like a riot. As a result, there were times when I had to wait a long time to perform. However, the audience in Venice was also indifferent, and when Jimmy McCulloch sang “Medicine Jar,” the scene suddenly went silent (bitter smile), and for a while after that, even Paul’s songs didn’t make any noise, giving it a strange sense of realism. However, after that it gets noisy again. And the members of Wings, including Paul, seem to be excited in front of the passionate audience, and let us hear a light performance with footwork. What’s more, during the MC before “Live And Let Die,” Linda said “gracias,” and when Denny Laine sang “Richard Cory,” he changed the title of the song to “Casanova,” demonstrating his spirit of service. Plenty too. There’s also an interesting scene where he misses the guitar stroke when the tempo of “Band On The Run” increases. Of course, overall, although the sound image is close, I think it is a rough sound source, but with this restoration, it is much easier to listen to than past items.
