Description

Trevor Jones, whose rare sound sources will be released, was a behind-the-scenes person for Wings, so he had other interesting sound sources such as rough mixes and tour rehearsals. One of these is a compilation tape arranged in the order of the actual live performances that was created as material for the stage production when Wings began their world tour in 1975. Naturally, most of the sound sources use regular studio recordings and include “Little Woman Love” and “C Moon”, and conversely, there are no songs from “WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND”. This confirms that it was a data tape for the 1975 tour. What’s interesting is that songs such as “Lady Madonna” and “Yesterday” openly borrow the Beatles’ sound sources. Therefore, in addition to being used as material for behind-the-scenes users, I think it can also be enjoyed as an exciting compilation tape that combines the sound sources of Wings and the Beatles from 1975. The problem was two songs from the stage repertoire, “Richard Cory” and “Soily,” for which no official sound sources were released at the time. From the results, both of them are looking at the same sound source that was recorded as a bonus track of “WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND OUTTAKES & MORE” this time. In other words, “Soily” is a so-called monitor mix sound source that picks up the sound from the studio speakers from the take recorded at the 1974 “ONE HAND CLAPPING” session. The version heard here is actually by the composer, and is basically the same take as the version heard in the bootleg containing the same session, but only the ending is different. This means that it turns out that the ending of one of the versions has been edited. Additionally, the version you can hear here is only heard in this monitor mix, and an inline recorded version has not yet been discovered. On the actual stage, “Richard Cory” was played as a medley with “Picasso’s Last Words,” but here the latter is recorded in full with the usual studio take (thus, it starts with a reprise of “Jet”). Furthermore, “Richard Cory” is also recorded as a rehearsal take performed alone, which is completely different from the actual live arrangement, so was it really a reference for the stage production? Contains interesting and rare behind-the-scenes sound sources that will make you want to comment. This is a cassette distributed to the stage lighting staff for Wings’ 1975-1976 Over The World tour. “Soily” contains an unreleased take from the One Hand Clapping session (the ending part is different), and “Richard Cory” contains a rehearsal take whose location is unknown, so these two songs are rare recordings. This is also one of the Trevor Jones sound sources. This tape was given to the Lighting crew for the wings 1975/76 tour in order to program the appropriate light effects. STEREO SBD (55:45) Side 1 1.
