Description
When Wings toured the United States in 1976, they held two performances at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. At first glance, it is a tour that has a strong impression of being blessed with sound sources, but regarding those two days at Cisco, it presents a complicated sound source situation in America in 1976. Based on the results, the only time you can listen to the show in its entirety so far is on the first day, June 13th. On this day, there is a track record that monaural audience recordings have existed and CD titles have been released. However, the sound quality is at a B-class level. On the other hand, regarding the next day, June 14th, the situation continued for a long time in which only the second half of the show and an excerpt was heard under the title analog boot “WINGS OVER FRISCO.” This LP was released by a label called WIZARDO RECORDS. Yes, this is the label that released Queen’s masterpiece “THE ROYAL AMERICAN TOUR”. Since this vendor was arrested after Wings’ American tour ended, “WINGS OVER ~” is a rare record that is among the last of the released items. Not only that, but the quality of the sound is also noteworthy. As expected, it does not reach the level of the LA Forum on the last day of the tour, but it is an excellent recording with a large sound image and a good balance even though it is monaural, and the quality is overwhelming the sound source from the previous day. Although it is a high-quality disc, it is regrettable that the content is far from a complete live recording, but it is an amazing item that no sound source beyond that heard on this LP has been discovered until now, and on the contrary, it still retains its value. When the super deluxe edition of the live album “WINGS OVER AMERICA” was released in 2013, the bonus disc included a multi-track recording of Cow Palace. Unfortunately, it has the capacity of one CD, and of course the contents are a mixture of two days. Among them, for the show on the 14th, there were only a few songs, such as “Lady Madonna”, and what’s more, it was an excerpt from the first half of the show. As a result, it proved that the value of “WINGS OVER FRISCO” LP still remains unchanged. Due to this, there are still glimpses of the 14th show on the internet with files downloaded from the “WINGS OVER FRISCO” LP, but this time we will not be downloading it from the internet, but a careful transfer from the original LP. Dare to do it. On top of that, they not only removed the scratch noise, but also adjusted the pitches that were different in the way they were distorted on side A and B. Especially on side A, the pitch had dropped considerably. Therefore, it is not only much easier to listen to, but also includes a rare edition containing rare sound sources in the best condition.
