Description

A must-see live video from Wings Melbourne that captures the 1975 stage in perfect condition. Since this is an excellent professional shot video that everyone from beginners to enthusiasts can enjoy with peace of mind, we received a suggestion from the video provider that they would like to take advantage of this opportunity to brush up on the video, so we have created a renewed version of this masterpiece live video. This led to the evolution into the release of . “FLY SOUTH NEW MASTER” (hereinafter referred to as the previously released edition) itself became a bestseller because it was a masterpiece that significantly improved the quality of the 1975 Melbourne Pro Shots that had been on the market up until then. However, this time we decided to remaster it once again. However, it is on a completely different level from a simple reworking that simply adjusts the color tone. What is noteworthy about this restoration is that it successfully eliminates the phenomenon that often occurs with old video footage, where darkly colored areas appear out of place, almost like ghosts. This was noticeable every time Paul’s blue judo-style costume or Jimmy McCulloch’s red hakama-style costume were photographed from a slightly taut angle, but this time, this unnaturalness has been completely eliminated. Also, when scenes with strong red or blue tints appeared, color blurring (also a common problem with old videos) used to make viewing stressful, but this has now been surprisingly reborn as being easier to watch. It is. A scene where you can easily feel this is when the intro to “Junior’s Farm”, which is the highlight of the Melbourne video, begins, and the stage is dyed bright red by the lights. If this was the previously released version, there would be so much blurring and color shift that I couldn’t tell what was going on, but this time it’s so easy to see that you can clearly see each member. Another slight problem with the previously released version is that sometimes the movements of the characters look a little like slow motion. This was especially noticeable in “Yesterday” by Paul alone, but even this unnaturalness has been completely resolved, and the colors and movements of the characters are finally in a natural state, allowing you to enjoy it even more stress-free than the previous release. This is the upper version. And this time, it will be released at the same time as the footage from Seattle the following year, when Wings’ popularity reached its peak, and I can’t help but be surprised at the fact that the same band’s live performances can be so different within a six-month interval. At Kingdome in Seattle, which will be released this time, the appearance of a king was conveyed, but in Melbourne half a year ago, the performance was still much looser. Encore songs such as “Soily” start out really slow, and there are even moments where the performance seems to fall apart in the middle. Then again, Denny Lane is playing the acoustic guitar with his legs crossed in “Bluebird”, which is loose. Adding to that, the chorus harmony in the same song is more irregular than in the US, and the backing chorus of “Magneto And Titanium Man” is also quite irregular. Even in America, where the chorus work has improved, it was completely re-recorded when it was released later, so you realize how loose they were here. It’s also interesting that the members’ stage costumes themselves are more sophisticated than they were in America. Above all, the visual difference is too big. As you can see from this, it’s not just that the stage has a completely different atmosphere from America, but unlike the later live album “OVER AMERICA” and the movie “ROCKSHOW,” this video is pure raw without any modifications. The fact that the video is accompanied by live audio is also valuable. That’s why the previously released version became a huge bestseller, but the upper feeling shown by this version is truly definitive. Furthermore, I was able to take a close look at Wings, who was thoroughly enjoying the spacious performance of the new version, which was reborn with an outstanding sense of clarity and stability.
